Alvaro Morata

I thought he was useless against Italy, not helped by a walking pace Spanish midfield.

He looks a bog standard mid table striker.

Madrid will be laughing all the way to the bank should they bag £50 million for him.

Maybe if Muller and likes are made to look stupid on Saturday we can begin to see it's not the striker but the quality of that Italian defence.

Müller has been made to look stupid for pretty much every game so far so not much of a measiring stick

When I compared him to torres, I was referring to his movement/running style. They look very similar in motion, and also when they have the ball at there feet.

Would be too early to judge whether it would be a good or a bad signing. But I haven't been overly impressed with his tournament.

Same Jamie, he doesn't look right to me.

Interesting to be going for another striker after *signing* Batshuayi. Having 3 BIG striker signings (Costa, Morata, Batshuayi) sounds good but will it work? There will always be a preferred partnership and someone won't be happy sitting on the bench. I'm sure Traore wouldn't be too pleased either.

I think we can safely assume Rémy is leaving at this point. Having three senior strikers (plus x from Traoré, Solanke, Bamford, Abraham, etc.) competing for [potentially] two starting spots seems entirely reasonable, especially so considering one of them is only 22.

I think we're now entering an era where, to some extent, we have to look beyond transfer fees. If we want to sign anyone who is anyone we will end up paying through the nose.

Do you think we will go with two up top? We have played the single striker for a good few years now.

I think it is a distinct possibility, if not as our Plan A then at least as a regular alternative. Another point is that Costa, Batshuayi and Morata all have very distinct skill sets, any two of which could well be complementary.

Wasn't overly impressed with Morata at the Euros. Took his goals well but they came against poor sides and he missed a hatful of chances. Realistically we will have to pay £40m + which is what we're likely to sell Diego for. Our efforts should be best spent keeping Diego and if Conte is planning on 2 up top then giving Michy a chance to start with Costa.

With Falcao, Pato and Remy looking like he's off we still need one more striker in my opinion as either a 3rd or 4th option, Traore definitely deserves a spot in the squad but perhaps we should be looking at a fairly cheap, experienced striker for the number 3 spot. Mario Gomez, Mandzukic perhaps?

You will struggle to get Gomez or Mandzukic if you are planning using them as back up.

Costa, Morata, Bats and Traore seems excellent if we play 2 up top.

Morata, Bats, Traore and a youngster would be decent if we were going to continue playing the sole striker.

I find it hard to believe we will bring in 2 strikers who expect to be first choices if we are planning on keeping Costa though.

Personally I see selling Costa and replacing him with Morata as a huge risk. Strikers notoriously have taken longer to adapt to the Premier League from foreign countries, you only need to look at the likes of Didi who had a fairly average first season before turning world class. I fear without Costa with two new strikers we will struggle to get goals next year.

Don't get me wrong it may work out better in the long term but for me I can see Costa and Conte getting on extremely well. Both extremely hungry, passionate and I think Conte could be the manager to get the best out of Diego if he does want to stay.

I agree.

None of the players we have been linked to are as effective as Costa in terms of goal scoring.
