Morata reminds me of Eidur, great at bribing people in to the game and not a bad goal scrorer. I think those around him would benefit hugely

In terms of the Premier League I'd take Dzeko over Morata, but in Champions League Morata over Dzeko.

Yeah it is slightly frustrating. I would love pogba here tbh. I think he has done okay taking away that price tag, and he will only get better.

Greizmann is another player id love to see here, if costa is going to leave, I think we should say to Atlético we want greizmann in exchange or costa goes elsewhere. 

 

I know there is plenty of criticism about morata not being a 20 goal a season striker, but neither was drogba. 

Morata is a real work horse, great attitude and I think he could become more prolific if he played consistently centre forward at a top team. 

He actually reminds me a little of pre liverpool torres, who also didn't have the best goals record.

Hmm Torres finished second top scorer (19 goals) in La Liga with Atletico at 19 years old, he then scored 16 the next season.  That's significantly more than Morata has done so far IMO.

I don't really see the similarities with both. Morata is a decent footballer but he doesn't have that lethal instinct that makes for great strikers.

Torres also played centre forward every game. He hit 19 league goals in 1 season out of 5. All the rest were between 10 and 15, which is what morata would produce if he played consistently at centre forward. 

Morata does miss a few chances, but he also pops up with big goals in big games. 

Maybe I've not seen morata as much as yourself or others. He has impressed me most of the times I've watched him, I don't he is far off being real deal. 

If costa goes we are going to have to roll the dice on someone.

 

@Chelsbear out of curiosity who would you go for if costa was to leave? I'd be happy to take a punt on any of morata, lukaku, icardi, or lacazette. 

I'd be ecstatic if we got aubemayang, sanchez, greizmann or dybala, but I doubt we will get one of them.

Balotti I haven't seem much of so can't really comment.

I don't think there is much out there tbh. The best ones you have mentioned but every other top team in Europe would want them too which makes it really hard especially with United and China handing out silly contracts. 

I don't think we could equal or better Costa with the second tier of strikers like Lukaku, Morata and so on. Ideally Costa would stay but I think beyond the summer that's hugely wishful thinking given the vibes we have been getting the past 2 seasons now. 

I like Morata, I think he would do very well, he has all the right attributes, I've never liked lukaku much but I am a big fan of Aubameyang  normally I'd say he may not be a chelsea type of striker of which Diego suits the role perfectly, however his dribbling and ball control plus his interplay is far better than diego's plus he has bags of pace can you imagine him linking up with our forwards, if we lost Costa and griezmann goes to Man U Aubameyang is the only striker I would feel is a good replacement, may aswell take reus while we are there  Hazard-Aubameyang-Reus thats a nightmare. 

Morata is a big game player and will easily be a 20 goal a season player, he already averages a goal every 144 minutes since 13/14 season in Serie A and La Liga and he hasn't even played regularly. 

It's crazy when you think he has only played just over 4000 minutes of league football since 13/14 season the equivalent of around 45 games and has got 28 goals and 14 assists, next season surely has to be the year for him to go and be 1st choice striker at a top club, he will be immense wherever he goes.

Yes that is what will give as accurate stats. You cant use app if he is giving time like bats

It looks like Morata is not happy at Real Madrid and has asked his agent to start hearing offers to leave the club. He decided to stay at R Madrid in summer when he was told he'd get playing time. Now "he feels cheated by the club" and if Zidane continues as manager next season he wants to go. It could be that we start hearing rumours about him coming to Chelsea soon.

of course. I dont think there are any strikers out there to replace Costa, however he comes the closest in my eyes.

I would go for both Morata and Aubameyang/Sanchez, if Costa was sold to China for 130mil.
