They're doing fine financially because of this model. Why should they make a compromise now just to appease Chelsea for no reason (when we couldn't even do them the favour of taking Falcao of their hands when they wanted us to) instead of taking more money from Madrid or someone else? Wake up, my friend.

And no, Everton wouldn't  Michy has looked poor overall when he has played. Why on earth would they take him? They didn't even take Lukaku on loan until they saw him perform well for West Brom. They're not some tinpot club. They're the best club outside the top 6. Are you even putting anything in perspective?

Because as I asked you what are they going to really do with the extra money from Madrid? Clealry they will need a replacement and Batshuayi fits the profile of player they would want

so you think Everton wouldn't take Batshuayi because he hasn't been a success at Chelsea? :laugh2: yet Juventus were desperate for Cuadrado and Roma wanted Salah but of course Everton are a bigger club. Are you even putting things into perspective?

What has Batshuayi done since joining Chelsea that makes him worth more than 10m? Tammy Abraham has a higher stock than him at the moment.

Because we are Chelsea! Everyone knows if you flop at Chelsea it doesn't mean you are a bad player. Lukaku, De Bruyne, Salah, Cuadrado and Luis all flopped did they suddenly become 10m players who no top club wanted?

Everton needed a PL proven striker and Lukaku was that. Juventus and Roma had seen Cuadrado and Salah perform very well in Serie A and outside of England respectively. For Juventus, it wasn't a debate. For Roma, it was worth a punt. Worth noting that they both took both players on loan too to test the waters and not an outright purchase. Not sure how or why you ignore all of these factors when making arguments.

On Monaco, I'm speaking based on the trend in recent years of how they've done business. You're speaking based on what you think they should be doing. I'd go out on a limb and say my point has more basis than yours, but aye, I could be wrong. Cheers! :good2:

If you "flop" at Madrid it doesn't mean you're a bad player either. Makelele, Sneijder, Van der Vaart, etc. They have a longer history of such players than us.

I have to admit I've seen very little of Moratta to comment on him but he clearly knows where the goal is.

Tbh I've never rated Benzema all that much, he isn't the kind of striker that will win you a game IMO. Looks to me like Moratta should be starting over him.

Granada were awful tonight. I have never seen a team spurn so many chances, including Morata. Should have easily been 10+.

Morata is great, though. I hope we do get him but not spend a fortune on the lad. I'd love Isco here, too.

I get the whole Solsjaeker/Kanu/Hernandez vibe from him. I don't think he can comfortably lead the line on his team own & sustain his stats over a whole season, but he is a handy player to start occasionally & come off the bench.

He is nothing like those players. You only have to watch Morata once to see he can effectively lead the line, he has a high work rate, good movement, good link up play, can hold the ball, can make runs in behind and scores goals.

Funny that Lukaku get's criticised for being flat track bully and Morata get's praised for it. Morata could be a really good striker, i have my doubts seeing as he can't get ahead of Benzema and couldn't get ahead of Mandzukic at Juventus, but if we are going to praise Morata for scoring half of his goals against the bottom 5 of La Liga then we can't really criticise Lukaku for being a flat track bully.

What a bizarre post, you are aware Morata doesn't start regularly? And that Morata is a proven big game player unlike Lukaku? Morata is getting praised because he has only played 1,791 minutes of football this season and scored 20 goals.

He has out scored Benzema this season having played 1,132 fewer minutes. So no Morata doesn't get praised for being a flat track bully it's actually the complete opposite, Morata is known for being a big game player, Lukaku is known for going missing too often in big games and for being lazy, there is a reason why Conte barely uses Batshuayi and there is a reason why Conte wants Morata and not Lukaku.

He doesn't play in enough big games to be a big game player yet. Yeah, he scored in the Champions League final, but if he was to miss that shot then it would have been embarrassing, that was pretty much all he did in that game too. I'm not saying he is crap or anything, just that it's unfair to say he is this brilliant player and then criticise Lukaku when Lukaku is basically doing the same thing. The only difference is that Morata is playing for a better team against worse lower league opposition. You can go on about his minutes to goals ratio all you like, that doesn't guarantee that he will be a great player. He could be great, but it could also just as likely be that he is a very good impact sub and very good against these sh*t teams.

I'm not saying Lukaku is perfect either. Like has already been said by others, i'm very unsure if he can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate a game. His touch is improved but still not as good as it can be. Can he handle the pressure playing for a top team ? But if we are going to criticise Lukaku for these things then we should also be wondering why Morata hasn't been first choice striker for two top teams, especially when his competition has been a fading Benzema and Mandzukic. Why can't he be trusted to start and score goals against the top teams ?

Whoever we go and sign, i will obviously stick by the managers decision. But i don't think either player would arrive here without big question marks hanging over their heads.

Morata has played in quite a few big games actually, he scored home and away against Dortmund, home and away against Real Madrid, scored the winner against Man City, scored in the CL Final and Scored the winner in the Coppa Italia Final against Milan.

But we could also say that Lukaku has scored in big games too. 1 against Tottenham, 2 against Man City this season, 2 against us in the F.A Cup last season, the winner in the first leg of the League Cup semi final against Man City, the equalising goal against Liverpool, Wolfsburg in the Europa League ( Wolfsburg finished 2nd that season in the Bundesliga ) another league goal against Man City, a goal against Arsenal, another goal against Arsenal in the F.A Cup, 2 more goals in the Prem against Liverpool, yet another League goal against Man City, a hat-trick against Man United and another 2 league goals against Liverpool.

Not too bad for a player that has spent 5 years mostly playing for a mid table team.

Both players have their positives or negatives. I personally think Lukaku is the better option, but if Morata is as good as some people say, then from my point of view, we are in a win win situation. We will get one of them, i am sure of it.

Not really no, with Lukaku there are more big games that he hasn't delivered in than he has, for Morata it's the opposite.

When Morata plays a big game his team are always favourites. When lukaku does his team are always underdogs.

You cannot compare the two.

Were Juventus favourites against Real Madrid and Barcelona?
