Alvaro Morata

the suggest price of £45m is over priced by about £10-15m, but still much prefer him over lukaku.

Maybe we will structure the deal based on future performance and keep the initial payment in the reasonable zone.

In a world where Troy Deeney is apparently worth £30m, £45m is comparatively cheap

No one will pay £30m for deeney. He is worth no more than £10-15m.

£30m sounds like a fair price for Morata. But we are desperate and everyone knows it.

Except Leicester already bid 25

I think people tend to forget that we cannot offer the CL next season which puts us in a serious disadvantage next to other top clubs. So when you're saying "we could sign so-and-so for this much money" let's not forget that most top quality players wouldn't even consider joining us for that particular reason. Not to mention that the likes of City, United and PSG can offer more money, both in fees and wages.

Can they?

United definitely but from an FFP perspective we should be able to offer more than City and PSG even without CL football next season.

City and PSG are basically financed by the oil states of the Emirates and Quatar. They've found a way to ignore the FFP and continue to spend big while signing huge deals with the companies related to their owners. It's ironic that the whole FFP was started because of the "Chelsea effect" from back in 2003 when Roman arrived and started spending money like there's no tomorrow. We took it seriously and developed a strategy to stay within the new guidelines while the likes of City and PSG simply showed UEFA the finger and got away with a slap on the wrist.

€75m jeez... We could get Bale for that money. I think €30m will do. He is not that good.

Not quite sure what world you're living in.

Lets buy Messi for €100m whilst we're at it.

Morata's askingprice is 75 but he would go for 30-35 if Real don't really need him. He is not that impressive.

I was more shocked at the thought of Bale for €75m. I wouldn't pay more than €50m for Morata, personally.

Reports this morning suggesting we have opened dialogue with Madrid over a transfer.

Roman was allegedly at the last Spain match to have a look at him (not sure I believe that).

Could drag on for a while this one.
