Romelu Lukaku

Featured Replies

Theres nothing to suggest that he will be a success at United, and I dont believe Chelsea even made a bid for him. The interest has been there all summer and because Costa wasnt offloaded the funds werent available to buy him. Whats the alternative now? Belotti, 1 good season and will cost more than Lukaku. Morata - Same thing, bit part player and is going to cost more than Lukaku. All clubs will know how desperate the need is for a striker, especially if Costa is sold. They will hold out for top price as they know there isnt much top talent around for sale. Whereas with United if another top player does come available then they have the funds and the means to purchase that player as well.

Breakdown - £75m cash, £15m add-ons, Rooney (£10m). £100m transfer.

Plus the agent fee. Give a sh*t about whether lukaku is worth x amount. He isn't worth £20-30m more than belotti or Morata.

Both those clubs will sell for £75-80m with no add ons, no player discount and no massive agent fee. They won't cost more. Also, Belotti has a buy out clause and Madrid want to offload Morata.

They are more than welcome to him for £100m+, that's a ridiculous fee for a player of his level.

Don't understand why would they pay £100m for Lukaku and not the R Madrid £80m plus £10m bonus options for Morata, who was their first option...

Belotti has a buyout clause of 85m and although Madrid want to offload Morata they wont do it on the cheap. Would you be happy with an Italian with one good season behind him or a Spanish bit part player who hasnt even managed to be a main striker for any club hes been at? All for similar money to a guy thats proven premier league material and has reguarly scored goals in the Premier league, while the other 2 will be significant unknowns.

Can they really do it on a cold night at Stoke?

The trouble is that the other two clubs are aware of our need and it's a seller's market...if we did offer £75m for Lookack then hopefully the board are prepared to spend the same amount of money on another player...

Zidane doesn't really want to offload Morata but Perez would do it if it funds their bid for Mbappe.

Morata at least can do it on a cold night in Munich.

Bellotti arguably can but remains to be seen

Everyone is over priced.

He can get 25 goals a season off of Everton supply. He will deffo do that ar united then. 25 x 6 years at his best at least being only 24. 150 goals in the league. Probably worth it.

30 million  these days gets you an unproven player from a lower league or and Old boy surpluses to requirements at his old club.

I feel chelsea were just trying to argue over the fee as they thought they were the only ones bidding. Probably end up getting beaten to rudiger and bako if anyone else suddenly shows interest.

Thats the going rate now for players due to the money available in the league. Mbappe one good season and is worth over 100m? Same as Belotti and Morata being worth over 70m each, all these players are only worth half that amount and Lukaku is the same. I think United were so grateful for Everton taking Rooney that they bought Lukaku just to offload him.

30m can get you varying degrees of good players.

Kante was 30ish, Luiz 30ish and so on and so forth.

I agree that Marina pennypinches anything above 35m tho.

I was mainly meaning strikers or attacking players. But fair point

I am only here to inform Chelsea fans of the real intentions of Chelsea FC.

At the moment nothing I have said has been proven incorrect.

I steer away from the official Chelsea Chat for obvious reasons, however did inform another forum site of the signings of Luiz and Alonso, four days before the end of deadline day.

People like you amaze me if I am honest, like those listening to press releases about Chelsea matching Man Utd's Lukaku bid last night. Absolute rubbish, but people like you obviously buy into it.

I will continue to post, free speech in this country is the norm. All I am doing is speaking the truth as I know it for the benefit of true Chelsea fans.

Do yourself a favour and ignore my posts instead of replying in a disgusting way.

So why feel the need to explain yourself?

Nah man we should have just bid 110 and been done with it weeks ago.

I was really implying that the club was getting their choice of striker in Lukaku when Conte wanted Morata.

With the Lukaku transfer a mess surely that means Conte will go to the club and say that they should pursue a deal for Morata. I'm sure he'd cost around the same but doubt he'd have a 12mil agent fee and 275k pw demands.

With regards to the coach being appointed, it was reported the club wanted a English/British replacement whereas Conte wanted an Italian that he'd worked with previously. A small victory for Conte there I think

Actually, he's not a coach but a scout who focuses on he opposition.

Conte can demand whoever he wants but the Board will still make the decision to go after whom they have decided on.  And that means signings below 40 million pounds.  Hence, don't count on a 70 million plus bid for Morata.  Such bids will only exist in the tabloids.  Just expect a Benteke or Llronte.
