We tried to play football. We set up to play our game not counter like Conte did. We finished with over 45% possession against a top side which hasn't happened alot over the last year.
Yes we played poor on the attack not really creating alot. But I believe the players coming back can sort that.
Just need to grind out results as the players work out how to play the new way and score goals

We gave it our all, and were punished by some clinical finishing. 
We played well for a lot of it and were unlucky to not to score more. We hit the wood work.... what.....4 or 5 times over the two legs. 
Courtois was awful last night though, really poor.
Conte's tactics were spot on, we had so many chances, he cant be blamed if players hit the woodwork, or miss, thats on them!

Is there  a chance we can Appeal Bakayokos suspension. I think it should be 3 games not 1

Oh no. Well they do have a history of kicking us when we are down resulting in the sacking of our managers. So well.....

I really would like to see carlo return. I do not want to see him at arsenal like a few reports were pointing to a few weeks back. Maybe enrique could surprise people, but considering how barcelona started off initially in his tenure, it wasn't good.
The only benefit of bringing him in would be to inject new life and ideas into the team, but not sure he's going to be able to compete with jose, poch, pep or even klopp at this level. The league is entirely different to what he is used to as well. 

I don't think RM are anywhere near finishing 2nd.....RM with the players they have compared to ours and in a 2/3 team league I would think that RM Board only have 1 target ...win everything.  Did Mancini get fired for finishing 2nd?  Claudio was in a relegation battle lost Kante, and achieved the impossible...no surprise there. Carlo I think has been the unluckiest of all the managers...but his bank balance looks good

Giroud is a good backup striker. He knows how to play I. This league and has a good goals ratio.
People who would rather have bats have to realise that Conte dosnt rate him. So what's the point in keeping him if he won't use him. I think loaning bats out at his age to a top team in germany is a good idea. that way if Conte goes or dosnt renew his contract. Then in we will have a player who will have grown and importantly played regularly. And a new manager can use him if he rates him.
I like bats as a goal scorer. But Conte wants more link up play which we all know he needs to work on. 
So giroud for a quick fix and a player Conte will play and a chance for bats to develope I think is a good deal.

I think Michy will get playing time at Dortmund, and hopefully develop further.  I mean they developed PEA nicely (Newcastle bid on him a few seasons back, and were turned down prior to him leaving to Dortmund), so hopefully with PEA not in the way MB can get some minutes and develop.
What Giroud offers us is some strength up front, and familiarity with the premiership.   I think the same could obviously be argued about Dzeko, but if the price was twice what we paid for Giroud, I don't think we should be scorning Giroud just yet.  Solid player, good back up, better touch and link up than Batshuayi.  Welcome

Me too, don't understand the amount of negative comments. You can't expect Lewandovsky and Auba level players to come and be happy as second choice strikers. Giroud is a proven goal scorerer, his is not too old, Conte is not trusting Bats etc. I think we will be happy for this signing.
 
(And yes, for me too he has been very annoying player when he played for Arse, but hey he is wearing a blue shirt now!)

I agree with you, he's a lot better than people here are saying. How often does Giroud get on and score that last dich goal? He does it a lot and his all around play is very good. I'd have him over Crouch or Carrol any day. The price is high but I am a fan of football, not an accountant. But is he even available? I doubt it.

Extremely underrated player IMO. I’d take him, I think he’s undervalued by Arsenal and the fans. He wouldn’t be an automatic starter but he’d be a really high quality back up.

I can't see it happening but Giroud is in my opinion very likely the best non-starting striker in world football and would be an incredible signing.
If Arsenal were stupid enough to even consider selling him to us then we should not even stop to consider it for fear they'd come quickly to their senses.

As long as signing Dzeko doesn't stop us also signing Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes, I'm ok with this. It's the perfect tri-force....+ Dzeko.

To be honest I really like the 30+ policy. I think we should stick to the rule and offer Dzeko 2 years deal maximum, as an exception because of our current situation.
I never want to see us in that situation again when our starting 11 was full of 30+ years old players.

Come on, let's not go crazy on Baka's display. Like someone posted on the Baka thread, just about all of his passes were short passes either sideways or backwards - super-safe passes.   He still made a few clumsy challenges that resulted in free kicks in dangerous positions, and while it would have been harsh, he could have been whistled for a penalty for his slight challenge on Brighton's Argie striker.   Baka's best game in a CFC shirt was the ManU game, and this pales in comparison to that performance.  This performance merited a 5/10, at best.

How do you know it's compromise if you know nothing about him? It's like me claiming your an absolute imbecile after admitting I know nothing about you......

Get in...what a performance, best we've been since atletico performance, should of been a rout 
Courtois - Couple good saves, no complaints
Azpi - hero, looks a rock and again putting in the ball for a winner 
Andreas - should be first choice, cool on the ball, no issues handling power forwards and quick ones in Lukaku and Rashford, should of got his goal as well. 
Cahill - Did really well, I know he's hit or miss but can't fault him today - solid in the air against Fellani which is an achievement.
Zappa - Actually thought he played very well, can do better going ahead but makes all the right runs.
Alonso - Strong defensively and got forward well, needs to rediscover his crossing ability 
Fab - Brilliant, In a 2 he gets over run but pure class today. Interplay with Hazard was a signt
Kante - makes every single player on the team better , no coincidence our intensity is upped the second he's back in the team.
Baka - Showed what he's capable of, power house performance bossed Matic and Herrara and got forward brilliantly, should be man of the match but man, take shooting classes :s
Hazard - My man of the match, class above, linked so well with Fab and Morata. United could only foul him.
Morata - What a header, equally impressed with his hold up, he was so much more physical today and drew fouls and relieved pressure at the end as well. Should of scored more than the one.
Overall a much more committed and intense performance, Conte got it spot on and I think this proves the players are in it with him. Titles not disappeared yet and this result proves the players are going to fight every step of the way and for me that's enough.

The difference Kante made was huge. I still worry about our ability to play the ball out of defense, but with Kante there to clean up it helped a great deal today. I also think him being there gave Bakayoko ( best game in a Chelsea shirt so far in my opinion ) and Fabregas room to play.

Is it too early to award Kante player of the season ?

Usually I'd expect us to go into a match like this with a slightly weakend team. But with our midfield having the injury's has and players needing the rest. I think we will or will need to go fully youth and subs beach for the starting 11. Maybe fabregas and rudiger from the weekend. 
Not saying that's the team I want out to win the match but I don't feel Everton will field there strongest team either as we both have more important games and competitions than this seeing as we've dropped off the pace in the prem and they are struggling in Europe and the prem
