Romelu Lukaku

Featured Replies

Just don't see how he could want to go to United over Chelsea, maybe I'm just incredibly biased but Chelsea's situation just seems more attractive than United's ATM and I wouldn't want to return to the manager who sent me out on loan then discarded me when I had quite clearly proven my worth

How did we not get it done?

Because we have a board more worried about spending money than the owner of the club himself? Summer of 2015 should have told you that by now.

LoL, so you think the board has a free license to spend from Roman but refuses to do so? Any limitations in budget or spending comes directly from Roman, hes not become a silent member all of a sudden

Same Roman who's been reported to green light a huge warchest for spending this summer? Same Roman who reportedly wants Chelsea to be back among Europe's elites? Why do you think this stingy board could even bid big money for Sandro? You think they'd do it if it was Roman who didn't want to spend? Ha! I've got a bridge to sell you!

Can't decide if I am really pissed off about this...or find it hilarious.

Same first reaction when seeing the news this morning of the £75m fee for Lukaku agreed with United was "whaaat?!", then within a few seconds I couldn't help but laughing.

Still not sure about Lukaku, if he had come here would have been hopeful for him to do well, but still had my doubts about him.

Hope this farce can be done soon, and the whole Lukaku saga can be finished for good - but this suddenly makes it absolutely imperative the club gets to work right now on getting a really high quality replacement striker asap. Would be terrible if Conte got frustrated and decided the club was being a joke with transfer failures this summer and he decided to leave.  Or if we got stuck with Costa  after all the bad feeling would probably be quite toxic for him to stay -  though does show that shouldn't burn bridges until you are safely across the other side, as never know what can happen.

Yes, same Roman. Do you really think Roman is going to be overruled by his own employers? You cannot be serious. Final word lays with him

You don't get what I'm saying, do you? It all reeks of "here, boss, I spent even less than you gave me. Here's some change. I'm such a good negotiator, boss."

It's not about being "overruled". They're probably just trying to prove some silly point to him.

The same Roman who wants to spend 500m on a new stadium isn't going to say "don't spend on new players". Especially considering the fact that all our income generated over the past year from player sales to endorsements to prize money and what not is about 380m or so.

I get what youre saying. Its nonsense

I like Lukaku but no way we should pay anything near that amount for him. Like barrettinator says we should just offer that for Belotti. Especially after Everton got him from us,f**ked us over stones and now trying to go in again no vaseline style over Lukaaku.  I say call their bluff and never do any business with them again.
