The comment used to be used against gents of a certain age wearing Speedo type swimming trunks. Not a judgement on the person.
December 18, 20196 yr 4 years today since we sacked him for a second time. I remember being devastated when it happened, but a lot has changed in that time. Still hard to believe he's managing Spurs. Since his sacking, Chelsea have won three trophies. Premier League (2016/2017) FA Cup (2017/2018) Europa League (2018/2019) Jose has won three trophies as well. Community Shield (2016/2017) = Manchester United League Cup (2016/2017) = Manchester United Europa League (2016/2017) = Manchester United
December 23, 20196 yr Blimey - 4 years - it's gone in a flash. Hard to feel anything for Mourinho now bar contempt. That makes me sad as he should be held in high regard, but he has only got himself to blame. He is now a shadow of the great coach he once was and I was hoping he had mellowed and learned his lessons but he is the same, bitter man who just can't help shifting blame and making snidey comments which shows that he lacks the class of other greats. I know managers do the rounds these days and I guess you can hardly blame them if the offer comes their way but after United to now end up at N17, he really has become a footballing whore. He should have the same legend status as JT, Lamps, Drogba & co but the path he has chosen has completely tarnished that. He may see the latest appointment as another chance to try and prove he is still special and feed that ego but we all know how it will end. Yesterday confirmed that they deserve one another.
December 23, 20196 yr For me he is the past and it was a magnificent past. Now he is a competitor, there is no love there, it is now about business with no room for sentiment. Ignore his comments about Spurs as they will be double-edged and always to boost Spurs. A decent manager would have given Frank credit, JM could not do that just an oblique reference to reverting back to how we played two years ago as though we were regressing.
December 23, 20196 yr I think he plays a character and this loyalty to his particular club and baiting the opposition is all part of his approach. He did the same with us I think. That said I don't hold him in contempt. He changed the club forever and made us close to the best team in the world. He might carry on and even kiss the cock but you can't remove that history.
December 23, 20196 yr I was reading some posts on Twitter and I think one guy got it spot on. I bet Jose was banking on Jorginho starting and planning to put Dier and Sissoko on him, like teams did last season. Instead Lampard changed the setup and Jose didn't see it coming, and as soon as Jose made the changes Lampard brought Jorginho on, anybody else notice that? He was completely outwitted.

December 24, 20196 yr I’m quite interested to see how things pan out with Jose at Spurs and his style of football. Spurs have been used to playing decent football and I’m interested to see if in the big games, Jose can do it. I have a theory that Jose can’t play “attacking” football and still win. He tried it with us and bottled it halfway through the season and reverted to type. Since taking charge of Spurs, he’s played 2 big teams and lost them both and conceded 14 goals - which is a lot for Jose team.

Mourinho's Tottenham team have only kept a clean sheet once in the eight games he's been in charge of them.

Im sorry but I disagree, he's shown the club and most importantly the supporters nothing but contempt ever since it became clear we were moving on better than he was, respect is a two way street. Not one single person has done too much for club to he able to take regular shots at us and still be highly regarded unconditionally, not even Roman. Ancelotti will get some welcome when he brings Everton to Stamford Bridge (and it would have been the same even if he went to Arsenal), Jose only has himself to blame that he doesn't get the same. December 24, 20196 yr I get it now he's the Spurs manager, he's supposed to do whatever he could to win some brownie points, but some of the stuffs he said post game was tasteless and bordering insulting. Sure, he will remain the most successful Chelsea manager for a few years, but f* it's hard to like him, or even respect him right now.
December 24, 20196 yr Well he did say he’s 100% Tottenham now so it’s no wonder he gave The Chels an easy three points

To answer my own question, Jose has been talking about the defensive and attacking balance. It seems he can’t playing attacking football and still defend: 'I know how to do it,' said Mourinho. 'But to do it 100 per cent I am going to take away from the team some qualities that we want to keep. 'And then it is more difficult to do it because to play for a clean sheet and put all the focus on the clean sheet, on the improvement of the defensive organisation and try to kill the mistakes that we make, that is not difficult to do.
January 2, 20206 yr More points dropped for Jose and Spurs. His record is now 6-1-4 after 11 games in charge. He's up to his old tricks now.
