Jose Mourinho thread

To be honest Mangers never have the same loyalty/relationship as players, especially now a days they're never at clubs long enough.  Name 1 manager we've had in the Roman era apart from maybe Di Matteo (maybe cause he was a player) that wouldn't take the Spurs job if it was the best option they had?

His appointment as Spurs manager doesn't really bother me, I still have great memories of Mourinho's time here, but I don't need him to love Chelsea I've moved on.  Maybe at the end of his career he may realise that Chelsea was the greatest club he managed, but again that doesn't really bother me either.  Move on people you all sound like that guy who keeps talking about their ex.

That's a bit of a weird statement (the last line).

Even if Mourinho never set foot inside of Chelsea something like this would be considered a big talking point.

Would be funny if he persuades Levy to sign Matic and Ibrahimovic in January ...

I can see him making an attempt to sign Alonso.

I understand the Spurs thing, but I was meaning more of every past Mourinho move is constantly talked about unlike any manager before.

Love his quote “ I’m really exited by the squad AND THE ACADEMY”

No your not. Your just saying it because you’ve been a chequebook manager since forever, and in the light of SFL’s success with kids he’s hoping it will alter people’s perception of him. ( everything he says is choreographed )

Im amazed he’s got the gig. He’s a total busted flush IMO. Bet Spurs fans will really dig his groovy attacking football and constant bitching.

People ask him about Chelsea all the time, his own constant bad demeanor towards us is the reason why people have different opinions about him, some still strongly respect him and others like myself do not. He could have been a great person, but simply isn't as great, I remember how for example Rafa Benitez was always loved by Liverpool even when he was here, there was no bad blood there at all, the problem is that Jose constantly puts himself in the spotlight in the negative way towards Chelsea.

Why's that? I could see him going for Willian at the end of his contract, Alonso would be an odd one I think, doesn't seem his type of player.

A double edged sword for Spurs. Fighting Cock about 23% against but overall viewing this as a positive. Red Café wishing him dead.

I didn't see this coming at all. Thought he'd go to Arsenal.

Don't care either way as long as we don't lose to him. I'm pretty sure Frank and the kids will be more motivated now.

As a defensive winger he'd do well for Jose, have golden boy dive and win free kicks high up the pitch and Alonso to bang em in. He's good at winning headers too so he can be an auxiliary target man to hoof the ball to, at first I was thinking of a joke answer but he actually makes sense for Jose's team.

Alonso would be dreadful on the wing, as a wingback he gets more of a chance to run into space, as a winger he would be marked constantly and would hardly get that space he's used to getting.

I hope you're right though, if Mourinho was interested in him they would probably spunk about 30 odd million for him, I would bite their hand off.

I would say he is, well certainly modern day Jose.

Alonso shares similar traits to the declining version of Ivanovic that was key to Jose (ie so so defending but offers added height and can grab a goal) I could see that appealing and he may want a player like that to use in similar vein.

Furthermore he practically confirmed during his punditry for our game at Old Trafford that Alonso would be a starter if he was our manager.

The funny thing is I can see Tottenham struggle the next six games, ending with a massive loss to Bayern. I can't wait to see Mourinho start blaming these players that already have one foot out of the club. I think Harry Kane will struggle as well, isolated in attack. He might also leave, wich will be the end of Tottenham for several years to come.

"Chavs with no hope of increasing their stadium capacity and a chairman who cant even enter the country, they know their time is past."

Just come across this on the Spurs forum. You've got to laugh. How many times has our time been past in the last 10 years??

Playing some of the best football we have played in years, with the best youth prospects in the country regularly playing, a bright young manager who is only going to improve. Sat third in the premier league a head of last years champions (and 12 points clear of Spurs all the way down in 14th)

But yeah our time is past 😂

I disagree, loyalty still exists. I dont think youll ever see Klopp coach Bayern or Pep coach Madrid. I'll always respect Mourinho for what he did for the club, but he'll never be a Chelsea man along the likes of Terry or Lampard.
