January 22, 20197 yr Jose on form. I might be in the minority nowadays, but I can't help but love the guy. Such a great character in football. Not sure whether we will ever see him in English football again which will be sad in my opinion.

I had a grin plastered across my face for most of that half hour ... always has been a very compelling character.
January 25, 20197 yr He looks so much happier commentating now as opposed to being at Man U these past few months. Whether that is because he wanted out or was aware the players wanted him out, I'm not sure.
January 26, 20197 yr i think its the weight of management being lifted off his shoulders, he has been at the sharp end for quite a few years now, and a decent break will probably do him wonders, he even looks younger
January 26, 20197 yr Agree with the above. Looks like the weights been lifted and looking relaxed and back to his old self.
February 5, 20197 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-47131088 Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has accepted a one-year prison sentence in Spain for tax fraud. He is unlikely to spend any time in prison, as Spain usually does not enforce sentences of less than two years. The Portuguese national was accused of owing Spanish tax authorities nearly €3.3m (£2.9m). In addition to the suspended sentence, he will pay a reported €2m in fines. The offences related to undeclared income around image rights while he was managing Real Madrid in 2011-2012.
May 7, 20197 yr I read yesterday that JM is linked with Roma, Lyon and Celtic. I laughed at the last option and then I thought about the CL possibilities with an unfancied team....... Could it happen and that would surely make Gerard's job far tougher.
May 7, 20197 yr José at Celtic? Reminds me of this: "Maybe I will go to a country where a kitman can be coach and win the title.”
May 9, 20197 yr If Mourinho was coaching a team that was winning by 3 goals in a Champions League knockout match, he would never lose from there. The problem with the Mourinho of today is that he seems to have lost the ability to get his teams into a position where he can defend that kind of lead.
June 2, 20197 yr Too many teams have copied his tactics which means very few easy matches these days.

June 21, 20197 yr An interesting four-part series of Jose's managerial career, with the fourth part soon to be uploaded. It's worth a watch.

July 5, 20197 yr Looks like Jose v Benitez is a distinct possibility. From the Telegraph: Jose Mourinho in talks with China's richest man over taking charge of Guangzhou Evergrande . Jose Mourinho is in talks with the richest man in China, Hui Ka Yan, to take over at the Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande and possibly even the national team. Hui, who is the chairman of the Evergrande Group, one of China’s biggest property companies, has dedicated himself to building up the country’s super league and also helping gain qualification for the World Cup. The two men met over the Chinese new year with Hui determined to recruit the best in the world in an attempt to increase the standard and profile of Chinese football. Hiring a coach of the calibre and profile of Mourinho would be a huge statement of intent. Hui is well-known for his passion for football and has ploughed millions into developing the largest football school in the world in China in the hope that it will help the league and the national team. China have only qualified once for the World Cup, in 2002, but a development plan has been put forward with the aim of eventually making the country a “world football superpower”. Talks are believed to be ongoing with Mourinho tempted by the prospect of helping to develop the league but also the Chinese national team who are targeting World Cup qualification. Mourinho has spoken in the past about developing fledgling leagues and seeking a new challenge. Mourinho, 56, has not managed since being sacked by Manchester United earlier year and has been hoping to join a new club this summer. He was strongly linked with a return to Inter Milan before Antonio Conte was hired and had been hoping that Paris Saint-Germain might replace Thomas Tuchel who has, instead, been awarded a new contract. The Evergrande Group, which Hui founded in Guangzhou in 1996 bought the football club nine years ago and has invested heavily – winning the 2013 AFC Champions League under Italian coach Marcelo Lippi who now coaches the Chinese national team and won it again in 2015. It is regarded as the most valuable team in China and is currently coach by Italy’s World Cup winning defender Fabio Cannavaro with its squad including the former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona midfielder Paulinho.
