State of this deluded Spuds....

  1. If they don't do it against WBA then the nerves could set in. We beat Man Utd then the pressure on them will be massive against Watford and they could crack.

Tottenham Hotspur, we're waiting for you.

Even Wilshere had a chance to go to AC Milan this season, but he went to bloody Bournemouth........that's a crazy decision and a decision that hasn't worked out well for him at all.

I thought it was Roma?

Strange how far apart the Neville's are when it comes to punditry. I could listen to Gary all day, Phil on the other hand doesn't have a clue most of the time.

The quality of Gary's punditry has gone off a cliff since his Valencia disaster.

He now talks like a United fan rather than even attempting to give a neutral view which he did pre Valencia.

I am certain it is a conscious effort to re-associate himself as "Nev the Red" and thus distance himself from the failed managerial attempt.

He is a real person you know. He has two young kids. Perhaps he didn't feel like being away from them for a year on a sh*tty loan deal.

Yes, people in the modern-day Anglosphere sometimes forget that footballers, like other human beings, are not economic units, nor goods. It is not necessarily easy for them to move from place to place for various personal reasons.

Completely disagree, Gary Neville is clearly harsher on United than any other club. His commentary and punditry is far from been biased towards them.

And Spurs fans wonder why people mock them :face_palm:

On an unrelated note, a few friends  of mine have been having a debate over whose the bigger club between Leeds and Sunderland. Is it just me or is it only clubs who have fallen from grace who seem to give a sh*t about the whole "whose club is bigger" crap?

Thank you for this post.  I was honestly beginning to wonder whether anyone ever thought about these kind of things before rambling on about where players may/should have gone.

Clearly Leeds imo, Sunderland's last title came in 1936 and three of their titles were won in the 19th century. Sunderland also lack European honours.

Prepare for a slew of articles bemoaning the 'boring' nature of the title race. If Man City were in our shoes the media would be crowing about Pep 'redefining' English football.

I find he cleverly goes to about 25% of criticism that is merited, enough to not make him looks like he's just being a homer, and from there makes excuses for them.

Like last night on the "back 6" vs Arsenal. He states "it was too defensive" but then excuses it by "Jose's only signed 4 players", "it'll be different next year", "Pogba and Zlatan were missing" etc.

He is subtle about it.

I understand the need for agents, but f**k me does it seem some are stealing a heck of a living.

Every time I read/listen to a competent agent defending the profession and justifying it I think, 'yeah, fair enough', but then I hear stories of middlemen making half a million for a five minute phone call or introduction and just roll my eyes.

My point was though that it doesn't really matter whose supposedly bigger.

They probably would, I think the media go really easy on him.

Even I and others have said that about United though. If Josegets more players in next year he will probably try to win those matches. It doesn't make me or them biased towards Man U. End of the day we're all people with opinions and biases do run through at times sure but from where I'm standings Gary Neville is on point mostly. Cuts through the Bull sh*t and calls it as it is.

I wonder if hollywood agents and the like are making such a killing? Is getting United to pay 90m for one of the most highly sought after midfielders in the world 22 million worth of work?
