Radio 5 are banging on about a stat which gives us the best defence and attack in the EPL. Great and all that but we're second. We've qualified for the CL, and developed as a squad, but we've won nowt. Arguably, Arsenal can win more than us, despite finishing fifth (hopefully not though).

At the back of my mind I keep wondering whether this is a high water mark. We'll need a good start to the next season to overcome concerns about playing at Wembley.

Not gonna deny you have the best attack and a good defense but don't you think those numbers have been inflated a little by beating bottom half teams 4-0 or 7-1 like today? I question why its so easy for you against Bournemouth but you struggle so badly against the top teams. Maybe Poch doesn't have it right. Can't keep conceding 2 goals against the best if you are going to press on

Have to give Celtic credit for going a season unbeaten, they are expected to win the league yes but stick Chelsea in the championship and we would lose atleast twice. To go undefeated in a long season is  hell of an achievement.

Slight difference. Celtic in that league is more like Chelsea in the conference.

Ya, Plus the CL and europa to come. But the league is so bloody important. The realisation that there would be no PL/other leagues for sometime is really depressing.

Nah I know what may you mean mate. I do usually enjoy the break though when it comes mind but this season I felt like I didn't want it to end.

Exactly. I think some people forget the horrible standard of football in Scotland.  It's a woeful league with only one team able to spend any sort of money of note.

It's about as competitive as a boxer fighting a street bum

Look Celtic might aswell break as many records as they can as it's the only thing that's gonna keep that league interesting :laugh2:

Tbf though I still think going unbeaten in any league is an achievement. Sure it's a sh*te league but they haven't done it before.

Random question.  What language would Zidane be using when coaching is RM players?  Does he speak Spanish?

Yes. He learned it when he joined them as a player and has lived there for years now.

He's pretty fluent from his recent interviews

The off season is really a black hole, I can't wait for the season to start again. And then invariably during that new season I want to whole thing to end NOW, for whatever reason :laugh2:

How does that man still have a job?

He fits a BBC quota, thats seriously the only reason I can think of.

The Gunners' London rivals Chelsea won the Premier League this season - the fifth time they have done so under the ownership of billionaire Roman Abramovich, who has spent heavily since taking control in 2003.

"Abramovich is a winner," added Wright, who scored 185 goals in 288 appearances for Arsenal.

"Stan Kroenke sees it as another asset. If you look at all his other franchises, they are doing the same. They are mediocre, with poor attendances and aren't achieving anything as a team. That is where Arsenal are at the moment.

"We need an owner like Abramovich, who wants to win. I would swap Arsenal's last 10 years for what Chelsea have done."

Oh is that right Ian?

United are taking a risk resting all of these players again. Some of their first 11 haven't played a game for a few weeks now, they may not be quite ready for the game against Ajax.

Let's hope they're not!

Think next season English teams will mount something of a comeback in Europe.....

Chelsea: we have a top class manager and being champions we can navigate safely and easily through the group stages. I'm expecting at least a semi final appearance

Spurs: The weak link. Pochetinno's European record is terrible and playing at Wembley isn't going to do them any favours. Surprised if they make it past the group stages

Liverpool: Klopp is a fantastic manager and I can see him guiding this team to at least the quarter finals. If they spend big this summer they might even go far

City: They'll go far till they meet one of the big boys from either Spain or Germany and then go out. Hopefully it won't be till at least the quarter finals

Utd(if they win the Europa): Jose might be sh*t in the league but he certainly knows his way around this competition. They'll be very hard to beat and I can see them going far.

Well, duh, of course he bloody would wouldn't he - erm let's see three league titles, a Champions League, a Europa League, 4 FA cups and 2 league cups vs a couple of FA cups.  Who wouldn't swap?

Bit extreme, League one maybe, but even put us in that division over the course of the season we would probably have a Bradford like game atleast once.

In a way that's what makes the fact they have gone unbeaten good. Under Delia they were literally sleep walking to the title, so much so to the point a couple more years under his leadership Aberdeen or Rangers would have turned the league into a serious title race, if not caught them. As much as i dislike Brendan he's raised the bar even higher, and he's managed to walk into a club with players who know they could sleep walk to a title and got that extra out of them. People underestimate just how hard it is to walk in to an already successful team and motivate them for even better things. If i was a world class manager jobs like Bayern and Juve i would stay well clear off because you are on a hiding to nothing, win and people dismiss you're achievements by saying even Shannon from Sc**thorpe and her dog can win it, lose and you are a joke.

you can type as much as you like, I live in Scotland, I watch the SPFL every week from the stands.

The standards dire and any team banking more than 20 million a season has won it before it's begun hands down.

delude yourself as you wish. Brenda is a fraud, he always has been. Winning a one horse league in one of the worst footballing divisions in  Europe doesn't change that. He was beaten by the red Lincoln imps in the CL stuttering to qualify and finished bottom of the group. So in the situations where he was facing teams that actually could compete with the money they have and can spend he failed as he usually does.

Really hope Juventus win the CL now. Love the italian passion and just cant stand Real Madrid winning it again. I wish football in England had this atmosphere as well.

I wonder if the same would be said if the blues brother won it?
