June 17, 20179 yr FFS not this bullsh*t again, had enough of this crap last year Just ask the selling club the asking price & either pay up or move on
June 17, 20179 yr FFS not this bullsh*t again, had enough of this crap last year Just ask the selling club the asking price & either pay up or move onI get the feeling this is an ego game for Marina. Because I don't see why we always feel the need to low ball clubs time and time again.

Honestly that is what the situation is and at the risk of being unpopular with feminists I think the fact she is a woman in a man's game she tries to prove more so she is a hard arse negotiator. Ask how much they want, pay, or knock a little off and stop w**king about.Iif they don't want to sell for what we are willing to pay find out early move on to a new target, seems so stupid to waste valuable time going back and forth...

Show me a club which will actually name a price for a player that they are not desperate to sell, and I'll show you a club which is run by someone as clueless as many of the comments on this forum. Not really naive, we spent a lot of valuable time in the previous 2 transfer windows trying to obtain this guy. People tend to overcomplicate the process of acquiring a footballer, the fundamentals don't change in a purchase, just communicate with the selling party if they are willing to sell (if yes what price), if not move onto other targets.

When asked if they want to sell, a practiced negotiator will not say "no", they say, "no but". No, but we might have to listen to a ridiculous offer. You, the wannabe buyer, then know two things; your manager really wants the player so you have to try to get him, and , not only will your initial offer be rejected, your second one will be too, whatever it is. Over to you. What do you do? You might think you'll just go in with your top offer right off the bat but that plan fails immediately. You do that with target A and walk away when it's rejected. The same thing then happens to target B. Already you are on plan C and it's not even June. Edited June 17, 20179 yr by OhForAGreavsie

Yes, I agree, we should have a good feel for the way things are. Now, neither you nor I know if these stories of Chelsea's continuing interest are true, but if they are, then what can be inferred about the nature of that "feel"? Sadly they have to deal in the real world and that means facing people on the other side of the table who actually know what they're doing. Are you joking mate or are you trying to be controversial as usual, ever heard the sentence " club x put a 50 million Euro valuation of player y" they always name the price they are looking for the it's up to the acquiring club to negotiate it down. What people are saying is not to low ball to try and be too clever, negotiate obviously, but negotiating so hard in order to stroke ones ego so they can go back to the owners and say look what a clever girl I have been is only going to waste is time and lose us the targets we want. It's not a good negotiating strategy. I was working in Dubai in 2008 when the financial crisis hit, I had a Mercedes CLS I shipped from America because it was far cheaper and my cousin is a car trader there, I got it at about 2/3 the value it was in Dubai so either way I wasn't going to lose money on it. I had arseholes calling me daily offering half price saying I'll pay "cash" well what else were you going to f**king pay me with, aspirations and kind words? Giving it all there's no money in the market I've got the money now, if you don't take it the value will drop, all this sleeze, just absolutely taking the piss trying it. In the end a guy like that offered me pretty much what I asked for in after I told him to get f**ked because he knew it was a good deal to start with. However I took LESS money off this dentist geezer because he turned up and was decent made me a reasonable offer, and said look this is the most I can afford, I need to get my missus a car, and whatever his story was but he seemed genuine so I give it him. I literally took a grand less than the w**ker was offering me just not to give it to that c**t who was trying to be slick because I knew he was a car dealer and would make money in it. Now that's me just a normal guy, football board members are big shots with egos you piss them off by trying to be too clever they won't f**king sell to you out of principle...hence john stones, hence koulibabi last year, if you are a smart arse people won't do business with you even if it costs them. In business you deal with personalities at what ever level you go, if people don't like the way you treat them they won't work with you unless they are desperate and a club with a player that is sought after is never desperate, now you're naive if you don't understand that. June 17, 20179 yr We do know why the club's bid for Koulibaly failed last summer and the reason was provided for by the Napoli president - they couldn't get an adequate replacement in time when the last offer of 47 million pounds was tabled days before the transfer deadline date. Marina was made an initial low ball offer and when that was naturally knocked back, she increased subsequent bids by mere fractions right until the last week of the transfer window. No allowance was given to Napoli to have a replacement lined up for one of their key players which to me is an idiotic move. David Luiz was signed on the last day of the window because PSG deeemd him to be surplus to requirements. If Luiz was considered an important player by Unai Emery, the club could very well have finished without a centre half signing or being forced to buy Djilobdoji Mark II.

Well be quiet then!". I don't need to be a chef to know a good steak. It's clear Marina and co aren't doing something right. Or at least haven't been doing things the easier way for the last 3 or so windows.
