N'golo Kante - We are not worthy!

So, tell me again what kante can't do?

Yes, where is that football genius with his "Kante is sh*t, must be sold, I KNOW that because I saw Stan Collymore say so on Homes Under The Hammer, so it must be right!"

‘The manager has given me the confidence to play this position since the beginning of the season. I am trying to do my best and I will get better at it, and I hope to have success in it this year.’

That' s the end of that debate.

He's looking like a below average PL-midfielder in his role on the right. Some would probably call me a moaner now but he simply does.

You are spot on.....I dont think any manager would do this. He is handicapped big time.

He's comfortably our best midfielder in my opinion.

When you have a player that good you play to their strengths.

It feels like at the moment the system diminishes his influence on games too much.

Just now, RIP Mourinho said:

I'd rather play attacking football to Hazard's strengths than play defensive football to Kante's strengths.

I'd rather build the team around someone who has just signed a new five-year contract rather than someone who is almost certainly in their last six months at the club.

Once again, i'd rather build the team around an attacking mentality than a defensive one. Build it around Jorginho, CHO, the next shiny attacker we buy with the Hazard money etc.

Building it around Kante and we may as well re-hire Mourinho.

Playing to Kanté's strengths doesn't negate the idea of playing attacking football - in fact having such a talented ballwinner who can cover so much ground is a gift for an attacking side.

As to your second point... we'll probably get the opportunity fairly soon should we fancy it!

I can't see a way that Kante looks fantastic in a possession based team imo. I agree about the bold bit, as we saw for the opening goal at the weekend, Kante winning the ball high up is amazing for us. He just needs to do that more often. I'm not saying this at you but a lot of people have some obsession of playing Kante at the base of the midfield three. Doesn't work imo, would kill the transition from defense - attack.

As for the second bit, a return of Jose would certainly send me to an early grave.

Just play Kante in his natural position, and give others more freedom to attack, it's about balance and not working against possession and attacking football. The defence misses his protection, having him so close to the final third actually interrupts our attacking player. He's not going to take player on, put a cross in, or shoot, he's counter productive in his new role. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out, unless Sarri's target this year is a top 8 finish, he doesn't have the luxury to keep playing Kante like this.

Its absolute nonsense to say that putting Kante back into his best position would mean we'd play less attacking football! I well remember Claudio saying having  Makalele gave more freedom to the likes of Lamps, but we have the advantage of Kante beinh able to do morw than whst the great Makalele did. Screw Sarr's so called Sarriball and his feeble General he's basing it around. Its about team balance and we are all over the place trying to fit square pegs onto round holes. Not gettimg anywhere near the best out of one of our proven world class EPL players is criminally bad management! It's an absolute no brainer  what short term measures  need to be done to at least try and stop this season from collapsing. Its also nonsense to say that putting him back where he belongs means we would be building the team around Kante. No. it would just mean a dann fine player being allowed to do what he does best.

Kante is pushed forward because his love child Jorginho can only play as dmf. The football is definitely suffering because of Kante's pushing forward, even tough Sarri won't admit it.

Kante isn't even close to being able to close angles and read the game as well as Makalele. In fact, other than them both being French and looking a bit similar they're completely different players. There is a reason Kante has had his most average performance for France when they've tried to shoehorn him into that role. Not got the discipline to stay back and defend, also a complete waste of his engine.

Its quite  sad because i like Sarri as a bloke and want him to do well with us. But he appears to have complete blindness to the glariing limitations of Jorginho's ability. There's still fans who think what worked in the Italian league will work here. Sooner or later he'll have to accept he's getting it very wrong and make the changes that need to be made. If not, then he'll be another walking through the revolving managers door.

Isnt this a limitation of Kante though? For those saying you can still play attacking football with Kante in his original position, winning the ball is half of the job. It is what he does with after winning it that matters in this system, this is why Fernandinho/Busquet are superior players .

Sarri’s style can work in the premiership but he needs at least 5 more starters. Kante’s role in this formation ideally is to sweep behind the 3rd midfielder and cover the deep lying playmaker. As for the  whole logic of he has just signed a new 5yr contract, it is madness IMO making a DM whose performance you are going to judge solely on the team’s success your best paid player.

And nobody is saying he should just sit back and defend! He never did that at Leicester or for us. Yes, Kante is not a clone of Makalele, who was a genius specialist who rarely crossed the halfway line. Kante has more all round ablility. Putting him back to where he used to play would give much more protecttion to a slow and dodgy defence than the defensively hopeless Jorginho is  giving,  and free up a space further up for players more suited to playing there.

He looks way out of place.......I cant recognize him at all. Before he dominated every midfield, now its just.......he is just not the Kante we are used to.

You've confused me massively here. Where exactly do you think he used to play? In France he played as a RCM in a three man midfield and previously in England he's played CM in a 2 man midfield. In every single team he's played as the energetic box to box midfielder, never as an anchor. So do you suggest we drop a CM and go back to a two man midfield? People always make the sweeping statement of 'play Kante where he has before', without actually saying what that means. Kante playing where Jorginho would be a completely new role to him and he doesn't have the technical ability to do it well enough.

Ever since he arrived in England he was so consistenly good you almost took him foor granted. Anything less than an 8 out 10 was an off day for him. Too often now he now looks like a 6 out of 10 player. I honestly cannot ever remember the performances of a world class player at the peak of his career being so negatively affected by the arrival of a new manager.

I'll turn it back to you, because you're the one who's opinion on this is out of touch with an ever increasing majority of Chelsea fans, general football fans and almost everyone in the media. To you, he's playing where he's always played. I dont mean this in a sarcastic way, but i can only say i dont know what you've been watching the past few years.
