Chelsea vs Liverpool Pasadena July 27th

So whats your point? How City are playing has absolutely nothing to do with us in pre season, it has no relevance whatsoever to this match against Liverpool.

It has relevance when guys are saying Conte has only been in charge for X amount of time. Cant expect changes that soon, players are unfit etc.

Guardiola is in exactly the same position and seems to have have transferred his methods and his team are clearly playing a different style, so it can be done.

That doesnt mean to say I love guardiola and hate Conte. I love Contes passion, and it was a simple case of being disappointed with seeing our team so deep, and lacking attacking intent. It wasnt an enjoyable watch. Thats not to say it wont improve and i am sure it will. But i was commenting on this match alone.

from the bbc right now on the current City match..

Pep Guardiola said yesterday that he wanted Manchester City to play the ball out from the back quickly.

Not much evidence of that so far.

The main tactic has been for City keeper Willy Caballero to whack it downfield.

With all due respect to people's opinions, some of us need to be less harsh in pre season. The crtirism of RLC from some, I don't get, 20 years old, playing in a position that he's never played in before and I thought he was positive. I don't know how you can look at the game and not think, defensively we were efficient and very organised, something we weren't last season. Look at how we've played at times over the last ten years or so, labelled boring and defensive by the media, are people that fussed anymore? If we were to play on the counter against teams and win the league, or get top four, why make a fuss? If you want entertainment, watch Arsenal play like that and win nothing.

Its personal preference isnt it. I didnt enjoy us scrape 1-0 wins towards the end when we won the league. I dont enjoy watching us sitting deep playing on the counter. Doesnt mean ill ever support another team, but i can hope for new ideas, especially with an energetic new manager who didnt employ these tactics for Italy in the Euros. In fact im sure Italy had more of the ball v Spain in the 1st half.

An apology when you are ready.

Man City had more of the ball after an 85 mins, pressed high up the pitch against a Dortmund team that are further into Pre-Season, and a team that normally dominate themselves.

And to top it all 1-0 up.

Whos talking bollocks now? Again poor from you. No surprise anymore. Not a clue.

Even last year RLC seemed a lazy player. personally i still do not see him putting himself about. For me this is his problem.

How many times over the years have young players been on the brink but just unable to push the extra few % that's needed to get a first team  place?

JoshMcEachran was one who was allegedly thefuture but is now playing at Brentford. Is there a lot to be said for some players being too wealthy too early?

None of that have f**k all to do with our pre season, nothing, nada, zip, nil, nowt. You seem desperate to make everything seem doomed, miserable, poor, rubbish. shut up.

1-1 by the way. We won, they drew. Means absolutely nothing.

Whats it got to do with you how old i am or what I write on my profile thing, f**king moron.

Slightly surprised at the amount of attention and coverage Fabregas' sending off is getting.

Was a poor challenge in fairness, but not as bad as many are making out. Plenty of tackles were flying in from Liverpool, looks like it got to Fabregas a bit and he dived in.

Well Man City didn't need the overhaul we needed.  Pep didn't have to exactly change much to get a draw with his team, they didn't finish 10th last season.

Conte could of spent all this time getting his ideas across to the players and I bet he has spent much time doing that but I also suspect you forget the part where Conte also gets to know what he has at his disposal better by experimenting with what he has.  He seems the type to assess what he has so he can implement not just his ideas, but the most effective ideas in his mind as opposed to just coming in with an idea and forcing it.  Maybe Im wrong.

I don't think the possession stats mean a great deal considering we were leading the game for 80 minutes and down to ten men for the last 20. Also, not that this necessarily means anything, but it's probably worth noting that we were outnumbered in midfield.

I think there's a certain hypocrisy in calling for high-minded debate then resorting to name-calling.

I also think there's a certain irony in making a patronising 'don't be childish'-style comment when talking about a reference someone made to a TV show which is over 50 years old.

I'm not it's against the dippers they love a whinge. They are outraged by Chelsea FC twitter page saying it was a harsh red card. Make no mistake if it was against any other team it wouldn't get a mention

He said something about the players seemed to have the mindset of sitting deep couple of weeks ago so I would expect he's at least addressed it to a certain extent but we didn't see it.. For an average side like lvp to dominate a lion share of possession is just wrong.. Sure it's only pre-season and also because of that I don't see why we shouldn't go gung ho against them, I mean result not important right?

If pre-season is not the best time to try things then when will be the time?? By playing the way we did, conte was not really experimenting anything with his so called idea.. It's still early days so there's still hope for me and some lads here who want to move on from that 19th century football especially against teams below us in term of quality..

And I want to add that our players ain't that bad, conte has enough quality at his disposal and finishing 10th last season was simply just a fluke, it's not a real reflection of our quality but if you feel it can help you in the argument then enjoy being a cheeky fella mate..

Moses is renowned for having a good pre season yet he never an automatic strter wherever he goes on loan. Liverpool, stoke, and West Ham! Are we worse than all of them.

don't get me wrong as i'd like any player worth his place to get a game

Three things:

1. Being sent loan after loan after loan despite doing very well in your first season, excelling in preseason, can probably be very demotivating, plus he's being flung from team to team as a short term option that is expendable. Overall for a player of ambition its probably not a motivating situation.

2. Not true about clubs:

a. In Liverpool for whatever reason he was never given a chance.

b. At Stoke City he actually was a first team player whenever fit - he started 18 out of 19 games when he was fit (the rest of the loan was spent in the injury room). Maybe not superb, but did pretty well for himself.

c. At West Ham he started off pretty well, then got injured and by the time he got back it was just hard to displace the players that were playing so well while he was gone (Lanzini, etc.). This is even more understandable that the club had little motivation to play a short term option in Moses, when the long term option worked out so well.

So basically he flopped at Liverpool, not at the other two clubs.

3. During his entire time with Chelsea, has he ever dissapointed us? Did well the first season and excelled each and every preseason. Why not give him half a season? He may be the perfect impact substitute player.
