Defence is garbage. We know it's garbage. Premier league sides will clean us up. Must have more pace at the back.

Great first half offensively & Kante already showing his class in these early days.

Defensively it's a different matter entirely, we look slow & lathargic.

I really hope we get reinforcements in before the close of the window or we could be in trouble unless we can out score everyone!

West Ham should be a step or two above Bremen so the first match is very tough.

Anyone know how far away Zouma is from making a return? I feel he's going to play a big part this season. We just look so much better defensively with Zouma on the pitch. Zouma + Kante is going to be amazing to watch =D

Terry is a legend, but we need the next legend not the last one.

Costa showing again why he is the best finisher in the PL, and a certain person on here is going to be so upset if Costa keeps on scoring!

That pass by Haz and run by Costa is excellent. Timing, finishing and style 5/5.

Willian is blowing hot and cold in this game, some decent stuff in the final third but oddly looked shaky with some of the more basic stuff.

The lack of pace in this back four is worrying, the simplest of balls is splitting them in half.

Costa's link up play has been excellent and he took his goal really well.

Some neat work from Oscar for the opening two goals but I'm still not sold on his overal contribution.

Matic just doesn't seem to be able to stay switched on anymore.

Hazard looks sharp, huge plus going into the season.

Kante looks like he'll run himself into the ground for us.

Really think a defensive reinforcement is key if we're going to push for top four this season.

really liked the first 10-15 minutes when we pressed high, then not so much when we got played lower and lower into our own half. don't agree with the shaming matic gets, but hey, each to their own i guess. besides a dangerous back pass i think he's been quite good, always pressing and always filling up the oppo's box as well as covering large areas of the pitch. 

 

hopefully batshuayi can come on and get a goal, and i hope to see if cuadrados spell in the us wasn't just a false hope for him to shine in our shirt.

I think the main problem in defence is a lack of pace, everyone is scared to push forward, so it leaves too big of gap between defence and midfield.

I can't see us selling Oscar or Costa. Both to play a big part this season.

matic for chalobah 2nd half i would like to see, everyone else has played okay. 

 

I think both Matic and Willian have had a horrible first half. Both with bad backpasses, bad positioning, lost the ball in dangerous positions and their pressing have been lazy.

 

Hazard, Kante and Costa have been our best players.

Good scoreline but it's wallpapering over the obvious...defence is the same crap as last season.  A big hole in front of the back four when we defend and WB are exploiting it time and time again, Conte needs a lot of work yet.......and some guts to be committed to change or we will be fielding the same 10 or 11 as last year, and we know how well that finished...

Some sexy attacking play but defensively we have on occasion been shambolic, Unfortunately Terry has been making quite a few mistakes so far.

Zouma is needed back sooner rather than Later I fear as Cahill is not able to cover for Terry's lack of pace.

I would like to see Hector and Chalobah bought on at half time if not Aina as he really deserves some more game time.

Overall a positive first half but some worrying moments in defence that even N'golo Kantelele can't cover for. Looks like we are in for a very interesting season at a minimum. 

He sees us getting ripping apart by any team will a little common sense to know to attack us over the top with pace unless we sit extremely deep which In turn gives up the ability to press high

Werder has no metal in midfield.

Several new players aren't playing, whilst the defensive line from last season shipped 65 goals. Neither of their best defenders from last season are still here, whilst the new defenders aren't playing, save for Moisander, who is probably more as a backup anyway.

 

The only decent players in this lineup is Pizarro, Junuzovic and Kruse.
