I didn't even feel Liverpool wanted it more, it was just horrible sloppy play from our players.

i mean for f**ks sake if anyone thinks liverpool wants to win a game of this magnitude more than us then they're lulling themselves into psuedo-psychology at it's worst.

we lost because a) our game plan didn't work and/or b) our players didn't manage to execute the game plan.

conte deserves a lot of blame for this, but people need to remember that liverpool didn't create anything before we went all out either. and conte can't do anything about our defenders getting a stroke leaving four players unmarked and henderson scoring one of his millenium goals that he has no business of scoring.

Our next 4 league games is arsenal (a) hull (a) Leicester (h) Manchester utd (h)

I'm actually worried after seeing today's game.

conte is right we don't sense danger in games and the reality is we were tenth last season so losing to this lot maybe is fair on us as we are not good enough ?

I can but our defence let us down, they are fast staters we are slow starters and build to a strong finish, I assume the idea was stay back nice and solid hit them on the break then take control as they dwindle, there while game is high Intensity and that's not sustainable, tactics tight execution wrong, not marking from a set piece and a collectors item goal from soppy bollox, manager can't help that and a general lethargic performance, we are a better team that got outplayed badly by a lesser team.

Our defence undoubtably let us down for the first goal, we though chose to sit off from the very first whistle instead of building up any kind of a head of steam. As a result we just never got into this game and utilise our home advantage. A 'better' team does this. Tonight we were poor both on and off the pitch and the result did not flatter Liverpool in any way. Hopefully the manager will learn from this, defeat to Arsenal next week could harm the team mentally for the rest of the season.

i find the bias against matic to be absolutely incredible. almost every statistic metric show him as better than for example kante, who seems to be above all critique here but really looked more like coquelin than any disciplined central midfield player. the only stat kante beat matic in was tackles, and that's imo because kante is out of position literally every time (ie having to tackle all the time), only saved by the best legs in the premiership. hell, matic ultimately proved our best offensive player, the only one able to do anything of any value offensively bar costa, who got served on a plate.

he didn't do super great, but i mean come on. how colored by his last years woes can you be. completely unreasonable to single him out as one of our worst.

all in all a poor game which conte hopefully learns from.

Statistical metric is all well and good but even Stevie Wonder could see from watching the games he's been incredibly poor for over 12 months.

Very angry about this, because we got exactly what we deserved. The most creative midfielder didn't get a start, we couldn't put 3 passes together in the first 45. No change at half time , very little improvement . Once we got the goal, no push to win the game , few dodgy passes handed them back the momentum. Last 10 minutes , 3 subs on to save a point, no extra striker. Sometime a manager needs to lose a game to figure his team out, and unfortunately tonight was the one . With tough games coming up, we could be mid table in a couple of weeks playing like this

I agree he was better than Kante tonight, who had a mare.

Some are far too blinded.

It never ceases to amaze me how different two people can interpret what happens during a game of football

Agreed mate. What is it they say about statistics, they only tell half the story. Stats have a fantastic way of skewing your perception of a game.

Willian, Ivanovic, Cahill and Matic need to be bench warmers! hopefully Conte see's this now! Terry/Zouma, Alonso, Fabregas and Pedro need to be starting!

Willian is okay but not great!  Matic is good!  Cahill and Ivanovic can go out!  Chelsea have the squad.  The manager should be courageous and attack from the start.  The manager is still afraid to go all out attack cause maybe he doesn't trust defence yet.  But f**k that sh*t!  We want to see Alonso.  I'm happy with Luiz performance!  But 83 mins to sub!??????? And we are 2-1 down.  What wrong with playing Michy!!!!  I'm definitely writing the emailing Bot.  I just don't get some of the antics

Stats are not a true representation of what happened, the only way to truly tell if someone is playing well or not is by watching with your own eyes. Kante did what he was bought into the side to do, he broke up many attacks today. Matic was slow to react to everything, something we have become used to seeing.

i did watch the game (and use statistics - the most important one matic actually contributing to the score sheet in a positive way - to back up my claims) and i don't agree with this. i think we are so far apart one and other that there's really no point in discussing this.

guess people just see games differently.

Looking back at that I can't really see what our game plan was. I can only think we went out there thinking that our first priority was to nullify their attack. Seemed to me that in the first half, when we did have the ball we were afraid to go forward in case they nicked it off us a broke against us. Against Swansea we looked decent just going for it. We know our defence is ropy and Klopp knows his defence is ropy too but the difference between the two managers tonight was that Klopp sent his team out to attack and press us and Conte sent his team out to try to not get caught out. It did look as though we were afraid of them, God knows how we'll approach Man City.

Its the same old sh*t time and time again....why is Ivan still at RB let alone be captain...another shocker, losing the ball, be caught up field, can't track back and always leaves a huge amount of space behind him, can't cross, can't tackle and has no pace..why oh why is he still wearing that shirt.

Cahill is getting worse as he gets older, he peaked the season we won the league sit him on the bench ; hopefully Zouma will be back sooner rather than later.   Matic should not be anywhere near Stamford Bridge, he is struggling to find any consistent form and he more inclined to have a stinker than a good game.  Cesc should be in place of Matic to provide some creativity and support to Costa.   Totally bereft of ideas going forward because the ingredients have not changed. Willian while great one week runs into blind alleys and brick walls the next.   Once Hazard gets marked out the game we have no clue; meanwhile young hungry players are sat on the bench...how many times do we have to keep enduring this crap and why oh why do managers keep falling into the same trap with this group of players.   Conte needs to grow some balls over the next few weeks and not be hoodwinked when the players decide to turn up in training and then provide a piss poor performance on matchday.   He cannot come up with the excuse that he does not have another RB....yes he does! but he chooses to play him out of position at LB while a player who was bought to play LB warms the bench...totally idiotic ...Liverpool worked as a team from start to finish and certainly based on their games so far it is fair to say that they are improving vastly quicker than we are because Klopp is prepared to play new signings and integrate them into his team and gets them playing high press fast paced football while we continue playing in our pedestrian manner of going out for a Sunday, sideways, backwards and the odd occasionally sprint forward into a defensive wall.

I really expected better this season but I guess we are going to be served up the same dross

This is what makes the football the great game it is, we all take different things from it and love to discuss it. No one is right no one is wrong.

Kante was not great today.  Misplaced so many passes and was off position conceding first goal.  Kante is important for Chelsea but CHELSEA SHOULD ADAPT BASED ON THE FLOW IF THE GAME.  today kante offered nothing that we would miss!  We needed to attack so that Liverpool would sit back!  I mean we are down 2-0 or 2-1 and manager continues with a formation that was flat.  Why not try 3-5-2 or 4-2-4 at that stage cause already we are down and chasing it.  Matic had a good game and tonight I felt kante needed to be taken off at half time for cesc and osca out for Michy.  I could be wrong and too angry but that is my feeling

Well that was f**king awful. I can't think of one redeeming factor. Apart from the beer before and the chips after.

A bottle of Piccini Memoro for me now and a couple of episodes of Narcos. In 2hrs I wont remember the result.
