Booking Pedro was f**king disgraceful.

As I told my colleagues who commented on the result: of all the matches I didn't want to lose this season, this one topped the list! Now for a similar result for the away match...

From now on, every time you go to a match, you should turn to all your neighbours and say "Are you Boyne?" We will end up sounding like the baggies fans singing 'boing boing'
October 24, 20169 yr Oh look, a repeat of yesterday's match on my sports channel. Let's see how this one ends
October 24, 20169 yr Don't think we got the credit we deserved for such an amazing performance, it was all how sh*t united were whilst We were at it from start to finish, brilliant performance.
October 24, 20169 yr like to say well done to M Alonso for the quite and professional way he has gone about his job had a bloody difficult task against Man u but he stuck to his task and came out a winner as in all his other games Edited October 24, 20169 yr by dellaw
October 24, 20169 yr Conte will always command respect from the players because he's been there and done it , as a player, a captain, and a manager. World class in all departments. Sorry, Jose, telling people to do what you've never done only gets you so far

For all he hasn't had a good couple of years, there's no doubt that Jose has commanded respect from players in the past.

Sorry to be a kill joy but a soon as you make contact with the crowd it's a bookable offence. I don't agree with it but the players know the rules, just like taking your shirt off.

People pay huge sums of money to go and watch games and players are punished for wanting to acknowledge their existence. There's nothing wrong with what Pedro did and it's pathetic that it's viewed as an "offence".
October 24, 20169 yr one thing I like to bring back was the Ole's coming from the fans with every touch by a CFC Player - that was lovely to watch & hear - Hell I will watch Manchester Mondays to revisit this
October 25, 20169 yr Great win. Surreal moment for me on Sunday. Saw the first goal going to the New York Jets game. In a train station,on an American Chelsea fan's mobile phone. He was watching it live and we celebrated together, then had a discussion about Chelsea while watching the match. Totally surreal Chelsea moment for me.

Should the ref be getting the blame for booking pedro when all he did was to follow instruction already set by the FA? We all agree it's a bullsh*t offence but the ref didn't set the rule.. he's just doing his job, at least in that context.. The criticisism on him in that context is unjust..

But I made no mention of the referee in my post and by extension didn't criticise him. My post was talking broadly about there being rules in place that are specifically there to prohibit certain types of celebration from players. My main gripe being that players who choose to celebrate with the people that ensure football as spectacle even exists are viewed as doing something that should be punished.
