who else is feeling more skeptical about winning the league as each fixture approaches?

I would. They did the same last season. Cruising along, winning games (fair play) but it falls apart at the last minute.

Anyway the league has to be ours now. Lets enjoy the moment AGAIN lol

I wouldn't call being 2nd in the league for almost an entire season, and losing a couple games being a bottlejob.

Now if we somehow f**k this up and lose our next 4 games, thats bottling it

2nd and trying to chase down a seemingly uncatchable leader, no pressure 'just winning and see what happens approach', but Chelsea lose a couple of games, then the fixtures dictate that if Spurs win they can get within a point of us, game on.....but.....their arseholes open up and empty out, and they don't show up against West Ham.

Pure coincidence though....

As someone has posted on twitter I think when a team's fans start singing Chelsea rent boys we're coming for you and fail then it's a bottle job.

What else are they supposed to sing?

"Chelsea rent boys let's see how it goes"

i don't think they really bottled it as such, its easy to forget they are under pressure to win every game whilst still hoping that chelsea slip up, and as people have rightly pointed out they were not going to win all of their remaining games. Even so it should be obligatory to refer to them as bottlers

On a great run of form, went into a cup semi with a lot of so called experts backing them, opportunity to win an fa cup for first time in 26 years and they let in four, bottlers without doubt!!! " we're waiting for you, we're waiting for you, tottering Hotspur we're waiting for you"

Not sing it at all, if they don't actually think it?

Football fans do that all the time, it's a hilarious part of being a football fan:

- If some sh*thouses go top after 20 minutes of the opening game of the season they sing "we're gonna win the league"

- If one of your players obviously dives in the box you shout for a penalty

- If a defender/midfielder who never scores gets in a bit of space anywhere in the opposition half, you shout "SHOOT"

- Singing that "my old man said be a Tottenham fan" despite him never saying such a thing in his life

The main exception is that if you shout "we're gonna bounce in a minute" you bloody well bounce!

Of course not but the fact they were so confident then failed against not only the West Ham game or the FA Cup game against us but countless big games across the season including there European cups crash shows they're bottlers.

Of course they meant it, that's why they sang it. Silly f**kers actually started to believe their own hype...probably drowning on the euphoria of finally finishing above Arsenal.:yay:

It shouldn't be too hard to get the remaining points. Monday is Middlesborough, who is dead, and WBA, who couldn't beat Burnley, a team that's barely above the basement. Anything can happen, especially in the last few matches of the season, but I think it's in the bag as long as the lads stay focused and don't get ahead of themselves.

Exactly! If only everyone knew what bottlejob meant. They were just taking things game by game, its not like it was completely in their hands if they were to win the title, because they would have to rely on us dropping points.

But typical spuds, they drop points this time of year almost every year

Don't talk about having it in the bag, i just had to delete a whole thread because of that. Best to keep your head down and not mention winning it at all, some people walk round like nervous wrecks all week if you do.

It baffles me that adults still prefer superstition over confidence.

If we somehow contrive to lose things from here it will deservedly be Chelsea's fault, not because someone in England posting his opinion on the Internet tempted fate.

As I said, it's just a matter of staying focused and not getting ahead of one's self. Six out of a possible twelve shouldn't be too difficult.

I must say in spurs defence. They had injuries to key player/s at crucial times. We, however, have not had any problems in that regard. Next season will be a bigger test to truly find out how fit and injury prone our squad is.

We just had the issue of dealing with the fact our best striker completely went to sh*t after the turn of the year, probably due to a transfer bid for him.

Whilst that wasn't the same, and yes it was self inflicted by the player, it had a big impact on the teams performances.

Really? Probably no need to delete it, what's a forum without different views and opinions. I posted in it about making me anxious, but that's just me, others are like it too, just natural pessimists I guess.
