who else is feeling more skeptical about winning the league as each fixture approaches?

A mate of mine at work said there's no way (which should never be said about football anyway) that Arsenal will beat Spurs on Sunday. He also said the same about us beating Spurs last Saturday. Hmmmm....

To be fair, I don't see it. Especially if Koscielny is out.

Dembele is injured though and he'll be a huge miss for them.

No, by this terrible logic every single team that doesn't win trophy x,y or z "blew it".

One of the most mind-numbing things about sports in recent years, I think led by anti-social media, is that every single sportsman/team in contention that doesn't win are labelled bottlers/chokers.

You know, a league season is 38 games long and teams drop points at all stages to all levels of teams.

Losing to say West Brom away in October = tough place to go. Losing there in May = bottled it :laugh2::rolleyes::laugh2:

If Spurs take 36 out of a possible 39 points in the run-in to pinch it, anyone labelling that a bottlejob is nothing other than clueless.

What a simplistic way to make excuses for failure.

It's not a mere "didn't win it", is it? We were 13 points ahead a few weeks back. Then 10 points ahead. Then 7 points ahead. Then 4 points ahead.

If we were competing in a +/- 3 point race with a rival for majority of the season and ended up not winning it, your claims would be valid.

Being ahead for months and then losing it at the tail end isn't mere "not winning it" and you know it. Save all the "it's social media" talk. That would apply in 2017 just like it would apply in 1997.

If we lose it from this point out, it's a bottle job. Plain and simple. Don't make excuses for potential failure.

Yeah and I get that, I get saying you don't think something will happen. But to say no way will something happen is ridiculous cause anything can happen in football.

This is the premier league where any team can beat anyone on any given day. It's a London derby against 2 fierce rivals and it's not like Arsenal don't have enough motivation. Still fighting for their number 1 trophy of the season (4th place trophy) and they would love nothing more than to stop Spurs winning the league like we did last year. Spurs could easily lose their heads again, anything can happen. For the first time in a while I will be supporting Arsenal Sunday afternoon.

If we do not beat everton I would agree with him. Super Sunday is simple for me and as far as the no way tag goes I am as close to as sure as I can be over football that whatever the result is at goodison there will be a different one a WHL. So if we win we have one hand on the trophy if we don't Spurs are breathing down our necks and this place really goes in to panic mode.

If we can get past Everton and Spurs drop points against Arsenal, then from there on it should be a cake walk.

All comes down to this major weekend

I would say you are being sensationalist.

If say we win our 3 home games and draw away to west Brom and Everton, Spurs win all 5 and take the title on goal difference, you simply can't label that a bottlejob.

Sure, if we end on 85 points from here and lose it, you'd be fully entitled to label it a bottlejob.

But it is not as simple as no title = we bottled it.

Hate to say it but if we dont win at Everton-which will be a tough task & Spurs win their next two games v Arsenal & WHU they will be top before we play v Boro, how we handle that will be a big test if it happens.

With Spurs form its difficult to see where they will drop points even though they have a hard run in, Arsenal wont get anything tomorrow,  i'm hoping Jose will go for a draw at WHL & stifle them but with it being the last ever game at WHL Spurs will want to go out with a bang.

The thought of losing the title to that lot doesnt bare thinking about, we just need to keep winning then it'll be ours.

When Henry scored the winner vs United in 2007 to keep us in the title race I swore I would never be that happy about an Arsenal goal ever again.

Similar late show from them today and I think it's safe to say I would have lied.

And yet it would make me feel kind of dirty. Oh football, what are you doing to me :beg:

I've cheered on Arsenal for our benefit a couple of times. One been that's Henry one mentioned, another when I think Ramsey scored against them in the 10-11 season to keep us in the title race and another been in 14-15 when they beat City at the Etihad, which I believe was 2-0. Only time I want a team I hate to win is when it benefits us so I won't feel anything bad for cheering on Arsenal today.

lets just hope arsenal have hit a bit of form and keep up their hodoo on spurs, because this is a massive game, make or break for spurs especially if chelsea slip

I just can't shake the feeling that Spurs are going to nick it. They look unstoppable in the league at the moment, 9 wins in a row, they don't even concede any goals. And football loves odd little coincidences, and after Spurs were the team to stop our winning run and stop us getting the record, wouldn't it just be typical if they went and matched our winning run and won the league?

We may have beaten Everton, which on paper was our toughest game left, but we could easily drop points against any of the others. West Brom is never easy. Boro are fighting for their lives.

I don't know. I just have a very bad feeling.

Boro could be down by time they play us.

Anything can happen, sure, however this pessimism is just ridiculous.

Also, keep in mind that Spurs must be perfect and drop no points. Not going to happen.
