While I'm sure stuff is occurring behind the scenes, I'm worried we're going to lose out on a top striker and end up with a panic buy on deadline day.

I think Sturridge "didn't get a chance" was more that he just wasn't good enough, was greedy and didn't look up, and was forever injured.  But that might just be my reasons for getting rid.  Who knows what the club thought when they hived him off to the scousers?

There is absolutely no way that Torres deserved to play ahead of him, even if he wasn't in our long term plans to bench him for one of the worst striker's in the league was ridiculous.

If you say so, but, in my view, Sturridge was hyped beyond his abilities, and would have been worse than Torres.  For all his faults, and there were many of them, Torres at least was trying most of the time, and had a footballing brain, even if his legs had gone.  Torres has a fragile mentality, and the pressure of the move and the first match against the dippers buggered his confidence, as well as him being crocked when he cam and never recovering to his true, previous high levels.  Sturridge had way too much confidence in himself, way more than was justified by his performances, and was not a team player.  Even with the dippers, and playing alongside Suarez, he still didn't play for the team, but that was masked a lot by Suarez's performances.  And his body is made of brie, judging by the time he spends on the treatment table.

Torres's attitude was awful, many times i saw him not get a pass and shrug his shoulders, he made post double season Malouda look like a workhorse, and don't get me started on his "i didn't care about results" comment.

That said i'm not big on Sturridge either, but i was struggling to think of many strikers that wouldn't have been an upgrade on the rubbish Torres produced, it got to the point i would genuinely accepted Peter Crouch if it meant he did one.

Sturridge was too much of a ballhog. He wants the ball everytime and loves having the ball at his feet but didn't have the body or technique to compensate his ego.

Torres was poor but he tried. His confidence was at an all time low, so much so that he seemed depressed even when he lost the ball. Was on a downward spiral and severely needed several psychologist

Would think cesc would see more game time if Aubemyang came. Need some creativity further back to make use of those runs. Luiz pinging passes up would work nicely too.

Wouldn't mind a 3-5-2 with hazard as a secondary striker.

Just get it done. We are traveling to Asia today with Michy and fecking Loic Remy as our strikers.

That is pathetic.

Only if he doesn't deliver on any of his promise and wrecks the team

So witty you posted it three times :)

Bild is also reporting the same thing now so looks like this is a no-go.

Dortmund was open too it until their internal deadline closed today but no one wanted to take the opportunity. Hardly any options left now.
