Roma won the group in CL where we finished second. Why would they sell their striker to us?

We need to cut our wages for a sustainable financial future, it's years that we've problem with FPF (Salah was sold for that), and we also have aòready his replacement

There's much more activity on him than Carroll and Crouch. This actually makes sense and is in line with our ambitions, I still think Carroll and Crouch is a rumour someone made up and we never stooped so low.

Because we are willing to pay more than his value

DZEKO DIFFICULTIES

We told you earlier that Sky in Italy are reporting that Chelsea are closing on a deal for Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko from Roma.

However, one source has told us that Dzeko is proving more difficult because of his wages, and Chelsea are unsure whether to spend so much on a 31-year-old, taking the whole financial package into account.

It has also been suggested that Chelsea’s preference is for West Ham's Marko Arnautovic.

i try not to take what sky sports say seriously. their "sources" are twitter, and their spanish football "expert" is guillem ballague lol. not to mention they use football manager for their player stats ffs. do you take an outlet like that seriously? it's better to listen to fabrizio romano and dimarzio when it comes to italian news, or simon stone and matt law over here regarding us. sky sports don't know their ass from their elbow half the time. not saying they don't get things right, but they are always way behind of updates than other people.

is this where ffp hits clubs like roma hard? i don't know enough about ffp, but seems like it does hinder the less financially well off clubs around europe.

Seems like a pretty good tactic to avoid long negotiations. Find a club that's struggling with money because you'll know they need to sell.

Yes, player wages cost us like 70% of our revenues, so we need to reduce wages to don't be under FPF in the future.

We're not in need this much to sell Dzeko, but 35mln euros for a 31 year old who's been underwhelming this season and it's the highest-paid player it's too good to refuse for Monchi.

I must admit I've always liked Dzeko, even at City when he didn't suit the system I thought he would have been a perfect player for us at the time. I always said we & City signed the wrong players in that January transfer window, we should have gone for Dzeko and they should have gone for Torres.

But this guy is 31 years old, we have Michy who's young and ambitious. I think there is definite potential in Bats to improve his game and make it as a good PL striker, he played a superb game last one, buying Dzeko will not do his confidence any good and we will get like what? 1 or 2 years out of Dzeko for near 30 million?

Well Bats is only gonna be leaving on loan by the sounds of it. I think we need him out on loan for next season too so we should look to do a deal like that. Regular game time will show us what he’s truly capable of. The longer he stays on the bench here the less he’s likely to make it.

Edin Dzeko wants reassurances of regular football before agreeing to join Chelsea as Emerson Palmieri is set to fly to London to complete a switch to Stamford Bridge. (London Evening Standard)

Wasnt it wages earlier? This just proves the media are full of sh*t. They probably know there’s more negotiating to be had but just make up the headlines so they have something to print.

calciomercato whoever they are reckon Conte spoke to Dzeko on the phone and he said yes.  7m euro a season

Even Roma fans are talking about how they should invest the Dzeko and Emerson  money, the Roma fans seem convinced this is happening.

Usually if we are convinced a player is leaving Chelsea then it’s 99% happening.

I’m hoping Emerson turns out to be a top class wing back, and I know Dzeko will be a really handy sub to have. It’s a massive shame he’s cuptied.
