To be honest, I wouldn't take an ounce of notice of any of these reports. One minute Giroud has agreed a contract, next Chelsea have withdrawn. It's all bullsh*t. I'll wait until the morning after deadline day and see who's new at SW6. I'm hopeing we get Oliver, he's sneaky good.

He's been here for like 5 months, he has 10 goals in 20 games, relax.

Just because he's having a bad patch people forget how good he was for the rest of the season, this is the same player who tore the United defence a new arse. 

I think it’s clear we need to stop believing Di Marzio, he’s been wrong about Dzeko and now it seems he’s wrong about £15 ml for Giroud.

With Morata there is at least some signs of potential. His heading is up there with the best. If he can work with someone on his shooting, and the mental side of the game he has the potential to be a good striker. But, hey, he has a lot of work to do first. 

It'd honestly hurt to see David Luiz at Arsenal.

I can deal with him going to Arsenal. What really hurts is him coming back to Chelsea and banging in a goal against us in the Champions League. If he went to Arsenal he'd  be there tops 18 months.

I hate absolutely everything about this transfer scenario. Batshuayi is better. Giroud will cost £15m+ for someone that is 32 come next season. It'll also help Arsenal secure Aubameyang. 

Weird.

We may aswell just stick with Bats tbh if we have to pay more than £15 mil for Giroud. Given the Summer we’re likely to have a new coach would probably be better.

I think Michy knows he needs a run of games (like Alvaro has been afforded) before he can improve. With Alvaro failing pretty much since September end, and Michy being blanked many times since then, he must of been deflated knowing the World Cup is approaching, and despite Lukaku getting plenty of time for the mancs, he's not firing, Michy can see his opportunity slipping him by, before he even got a proper run at it.

Of course none of this matters if Alvaro shows up and plays the second half of the season up to the level his price tag suggested.

Conte is gagging for a big striker, we haven't signed any players he wanted and I think we owe him this one. Just get a big striker in and let him deploy his tactics, if he is to leave at the end of the season, at least we gave him a fair(er) crack at it.

If he is to leave at the end of the season why should we sign anyone he wants. I imagine he's said he'll see out his contract then go, hence why we don't sign Conte's targets.

Considering we were apparently serious about Andy ''f**king'' Carroll, im actually happy were going for Giroud.  Think he could be a decent 2nd striker.  Maybe even start beside Morata in some games to provide lay offs.  Giroud or Dzeko, IMO either will do.  but money needs to be lowish considering their age.  We seem to be looking for a stop gap.  Which doesn't really work,   Dembele from Septic I think would be an excellent purchase for long term.

But most of those people (except for a couple of idiots) don't expect it each window, as you put it. The fans see the squad regressing in the last few years and the club struggling to sign top tier players. Forget about 3 from top 20 every transfer window, when was the last time we signed a genuine top class player? Maybe Kante? That's one in how many windows?

If we fail to secure Hazard and Courtois to long term contracts, we're f**ked, pure and simple. And if I were them, I wouldn't be in a hurry to commit my long term future to the club that's clearly going backwards at the moment and showing no ambition in the transfer market. There's only so much you can do when you try to save money on every possible deal. At a certain point you end up with an average squad full of average players. And the results follow.

But on the bright side, no more fairweather supporters. Totally worth it.

They never backed Conte with players when he started or after he won the league, but they are looking for the big striker he wants now because it is crucial for the team performance and system that Conte is using or planning.

If the board were still doing as they please we would swap Michy + £30m for Auba and f**k with Arsenal, that is more of their style not Carroll, Crouch, Llorente etc.

As for leaving he would be leaving due to poor results from using a team with players he didn't ask for. If the big striker solves our goal scoring problems he might not leave after all, but at least he gets a fighting chance with something that Conte seems to consider an absolute requirement for the team.

The last thing i want to see in this club is target man football. Find me one elite team that plays that way.

From what I can gather, Conte doesn't seem to have much input in who we sign, anyway. I think this is a case with pretty much any manager that comes to work for Chelsea. They're obviously asked, but as Conte found out, rarely get who they asked for. The club treats a manager as an employee and his power within the organization is quite limited.

Which in turn leads me to another question. If a manager in fact doesn't have much influence on who we buy and at this point the board doesn't have to take into consideration Conte's preferences since they don't think he's staying past summer anyway, that still doesn't explain why we're struggling to buy top quality players. 

I'm OK with missing out on top class players if we go and sign other top class players. But we don't, we settle for maybes, hoping some of them turn out to be good.

I realize that Carroll/Crouch/Barnes rumours may have been BS, but there's truth in every joke. You can't imagine this type of nonsense printed about United or City. That's how we're being perceived.
