I don’t understand Conte’s fascination with him considering he has been a flop at Spurs. Why he wants the club to swap a young £30m+ forward for a 32yr old one is beyond me.

Nope I would prefer him to llorente too.

New one I heard. We have offered arsenal David luiz in a straight swap for giroud. If that happens arsenal are the kings of swapsies.

I refuse to believe our board would be that stupid, maybe for Sanchez before or at a push Ozil but no.

They did not listen to your advice over sandro and seriously looked at Carroll so are you sure about that tom?

Conte clearly wants a proper target-man, two days to get him one now. I don't think it will be Giroud anymore.

Last year we were watching Diego Costa. Now, we are "about" to buy Caroll, Crouch, Giroud or Dzeko. The degradation is real. 

We won’t be watching carrol or crouch. As a second striker both Giroud and Dzeko are very high quality. 

Have a feeling this one will get done. Arsenal seem desperate for PEA and if Michy is the key domino then they will budge. That said by god we play hardball in negotiations now.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see your club signing top quality players and venting your frustrations (within reason, of course) when they fail to do so.

I’m not sure Llorente can be deemed a flop at Spurs when he’s barely played.

It doesn't make sense. Who were our first choice targets even? Andy Carroll?! We move on to Dzeko who could have been ideal, but age and driving a hard baragain again has left us in a position where we are AGAIN scrambling at the last minute.

It is never simple is it, never swift and efficient. Its dragged out and now we're looking at player who I don't believe will make much impact. I hope we don't get rid of michy for giroud or some last minute option if that deal falls through. The obsession with a big lump up top is frustrating. 

I'm just amused that we are seemingly doing everything to land a big tall target man, when we don't have a player at the club who can put in a consistently decent cross :-)

Not a bad second choice striker for the new couple of years, and provide more challenge to Morata. No way Mariana will pay them 35M, she's earning her money by cutting cheap deals.  I'm not too bothered either way, if we keep Batshuyai and finally give him a chance to prove himself, it's pretty good too. He's more valuable to Arsenal than what he got credit for, assume he's gone and they got the 65M striker, they basically got 2 identical strikers with no plan B.

Anybody know what the contract length would be?

Because we already have two talented strikers in Morata & Batsuayi. 

Morata was supposed to be world class, bringing trophies striker. Not "talanted".

Merry-go-round: Giroud was lined up to replace Aubameyang at Dortmund then got offer from Chelsea & was keen, so Dortmund turned to Batshuayi. But Chelsea baulked at Giroud fee so discussed Batshuayi/Llorente swap with Spurs, which nobody agreed on. Deadlock
