Next Chelsea Manager

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Our club is like a big self publishing gossip magazine, anything good that happens is always marred by something else the very next day.

I was thinking, maybe we are looking too much into the clause and assuming we wont get him if we let it expire tomorrow.   If he tells Napoli he is not renewing and wants to manage us, i still think we could negotiate a tidy little compensation deal.

FWIW, i dont think we will hear anything today as Conte is in Italy for Pirlo's testimonial

The simple fact that Sarri didn't extend his contract with Napoli yet is a sign that he is probably taking the place of Conte. A manager that didn't win anything in his career yet but given the fact that he was the manager of Napoli it's not really a big deal, after all they were close. If he can take with him Koulibaly that would be great.

So his contract gambit worked. Easy money.

I remember when people said Jose was finished and no big clubs wanted him either.

He will get another job. Just not for 6 months to a year.

Probably when PSG, Man U or real Madrid dump their current manager

I'd love to see Hazard under an attacking manager like Sarri and I think Hazard would love playing under a manager like Sarri also

You just need to look at the effect that Sarri had on Insigne who plays basically the same position as Hazard. Before Sarri, Insigne had scored 11 goals in his last two seasons after Sarri took over Napoli, Insigne scored a total of 47 goals in 3 seasons

He went from being a player with potential to one of the best attackers in the League under Sarri's management

Mertens as well became twice the player in terms of goal scoring under Sarri. He might just be the perfect manager to squeeze that out of Hazard. I think Morata would benefit a lot from a manager like Sarri as well.

Tbh, as long as he doesn't utter those opinions at a press conference or anywhere in public, it's okay to overlook that. Some people who appear to not be either of those are actually staunch racists/homophobes in the closet. Can't really be a racist manager in today's football anyway. You'll lose your dressing room. Most teams have black/hispanic/asian players of some sort.

Why would we need Koulibaly? Maybe if we dumped Cahill and Zouma, yeah. Otherwise, I'm not sure why we'd need him. I don't want anything to stiffle Christensen. He hasn't had the best season overall but I'm happy he got to play a lot of games and had a lot of great performances as well.

I think he would fit in the league and since Cahill is older it's a good replacement. But it's not a must as long as David Luiz comes back in good shape along with Zouma like you said.

Spending big on Koulibaly wouldn't make a lot of sense considering he's very similar in style to Rudiger, he's also had a great first season with us and will only get better

The one Napoli player we should be looking to sign if Sarri comes in would be Jorginho, he's what make Napoli tick and has developed into one of the best deep lying playmakers in the last few seasons

I'm being impatient here but has there been any update? Why are we taking so long? Short pre-season with the WC this summer we need to get moving. Please don't do this to me chelsea :( Sarri is there for the taking.

Are you 100% certain that we've never been managed by a racist or a homophobe or a person who was both? Can you say that with all certainty? At least in the last 25 years?

Is there actual foundation to those claims?

Don't know a lot about him but I do recall Mancini having a row with him and making certain allegations?

If any truth at all we should go nowhere near him but I'm sceptical anyway.

Get Sarri in. Just the fact that he is an attacking minded manager is good enough for me.

An attacking minded manager is a MUST, especially knowing Hazard will leave if we keep Conte or hire another defensive coach.

@Pauly We've been linked with a few Italian coaches now Sarri, Allegri even Di Francesco. As our resident Italian expert would you say any of them are actually better than Conte?

Hallo guys . It's absolutely a folishness that the Master is razzist and homofobe. It' a great man and a genius. If he will come in London i hope that you will love him ahe deserves.

Mancini claimed Sarri called him and "faggot" in a row. He also said he was a racist despite giving no evidence of racist remarks from Sarri (I think that was miscommunication on Mancini's part). Sarri said he wasn't sure if he said the remark in the heat of the moment and apologised after the game to Mancini. He also apologised to the gay community for any offense he may have caused.

He was also called a misogynist for telling a female reporter that he would punch her if she were a man.

That's not relevant.  There may or may not have been one, the other or both in the past, but it was never publicised and I was never aware, so I never had to  "overlook" any such racism or homophobia.  There has been an allegation made in here that he is both.  If that is true, then no, I would  not overlook that.  If it's not true then I don't need to overlook it.

Exactly HOW do you "know" this?

Hazard saying we need to stop playing defensive football. It’s pretty obvious pal.

You said "Will leave if we keep Conte"  Where has Hazard EVER said that?  I saw several interviews with Hazard over the weekend, and he actually said the exact opposite.  Pal.

Or does what the lad actually said not fit your narrative?

You honestly think we’ll keep Hazard if Conte stays?

Come on Yorkley, you should know better. I think our only chance of keeping Hazard is to get a new coach in, definitely an attacking coach so Hazard can look forward to playing attacking football.

We keep Conte or hire a defensive coach, why would Hazard stay? He could easily join Real Madrid or Barcelona if he wanted to.

You seem to have got out the wrong side of the bed this morning... Take a breather.

No, I'm not sure we would keep him.  My point is that you said it as if it is fact that he will leave if Conte stays.  That's just slack and lazy.  He said in several television interviews over the weekend specifically that Conte staying or going had no bearing on whether he would stay or not.

Nothing to do with what side of the bed I stumbled out of, I just don't like inaccurate gossip being posted as fact.  If you'd just said "I don't think Hazard will stay if we keep Conte", I couldn't have argued with your opinion.  It wouldn't marry with the several Hazard interviews this weekend, but it's an opinion you are entitled to have.  Just posting it as fact when the player himself has said, live on television, several times that it is not true just feeds into the weird narrative that has sprung up round the club and fanbase this last few months

Thanks for that.

Seems he would get on well with David Moyes - offering female reporters out!

Do we know if he can speak good English? Nothing worse than seeing your manager unable to communicate and having to use a translator.
