Lincoln City v Chelsea U21 (CT) Semi Final Tuesday 6th February 7.45 pm

Well done to the young uns, showed a lot of fight and heart. Gutted for them, but they will have learned a huge amount tonight.

Good experience for the lads. They come up against a more physical side and stood their ground. They'll learn a lot from this. Fair play to Lincoln, they get a big day out, which perhaps is how it should be.

Apart from Kylian Hazard, I am pretty sure every member of the 'U21' is under 18 which is a terrific experience and run. This team conquered many first teams which is a terrific achievement when looking at competing on a physical level. Had Musonda not gone out on loan, he probably would have been the difference tonight but either way, the boys done brilliant, competing against men. Tonight was never going to be easy. Lincoln have been excellent this season and formidable at home. Shame on the pens too as even the missed ones were well taken but luck was not with us.

Majority of these can now look ahead to the Youth Cup tie against Spurs next Tuesday :JC_doubleup:

Congrats to Lincoln City for getting to the final, but our young lads were immense and showed a lot more heart, spirit and desire than the seniors last night. Some great individual performances but most of all Ampadu was amazing. He should be starting in the first team from now on. Who cares if he is only 17, I seem to remember a certain young player when I first started going to watch Chelsea back in the 70's who became captain of the first team at 18.

Heard the commentator say average age was 18 tonight. Give these lads a couple of years, add a bit of strength, and will be some really good players coming through

Shame to lose on penalties but to be fair, Lincoln played well and at the end you saw just how much it means to the club and their supporters so don't begrudge them their day out at Wembley.

Hudson-Adoi was kept very quiet for large parts but as the game went on and the Lincoln defenders tired, he did start causing them problems. Saw enough to have him on the bench and bring him on ahead of the lacklustre Pedro.

Still a great effort by our lads. Just hope the Youth Team can knock Spurs out the FA Youth Cup and go on to lift the trophy again.

Last night was the first time its looked properly like men against boys, which it is. Lincoln out muscled our lads and basically closed them right down, the difference in physicality was glaringly obvious. But our young uns stuck at it and really dug in, the Lincoln goal came ironically when we had gotten a grip on the game I thought.
