'John Neal's Blue and White Army !'

Thats the first few words / chant that came straight into my head when i saw the name John Neal in the title .I cant think of  having to say any negative  Words  said about John Neal as he passed the CCC test for me Cool Calm & Collective .

i could be way off with this one but a bell went off in my head that when John Neal got the job as manager at Chelsea was Neal Warnock in the running aswell ? Or is my time clock at chelsea way way off ?

Thanks for helping to put my memory into overtime .

Warnock was potentially going to be our manager, but that was a few years later in early 90’s, your right about first thing you think of when you see Neals picture donny, ‘Jonny Neals blue and white army’

What a team 83/84 until 86 broken up by Hollins/Walley.

Promotion year we played 4-2-4 when going forward. Still got goals from Spackers and Johnny B but they broke play up and protected the defence.

That left up front for the first part of the season Canners, Walker and Rhodes-Brown on the left. Wee Pat on the right and Dixon Lee and Speedo down the middle.

Amazing In January after getting Micky T we settled on Micky Left,  Dixon and Speedo down the middle and Wee Pat right.

Micky T covered so much ground that we played more of a three in midfield without the ball with an off set front three with Dixon or Speedo pulling out wide to give width or out ball when necessary.

I really hope that younger supporters have seen footage of this team because it was a good and entertaining team.

‘Dreamy forays into European competition followed success in the Welsh Cup, and in 1976, they reached the quarter-finals of the Cup Winners’ Cup before losing to Anderlecht by a single goal. The Belgian club would go on to lift the trophy.’

Had actually forgotten the great man had taken Wrexham to the European Cup Winners Cup Quarter Finals. That was some achievement!
