Player motivation: Is there a virus in our dressing room?

Featured Replies

I don't think the problem is the players we have, I think it's the player we're missing... or hopefully were missing.

If Higuain can add a bit of that attacking leadership we'll be ok.  Too many attackers we have aren't really alphas, and are more artists, they want the ball at their feet only.  Higuain wants it in dangerous areas and then he wants to smash it.

You mean to tell me that you've never dreamt of Yorkley having a sh*t before? Come off it.

I wouldn't exactly call it dreaming of, definitely typing it sometimes:wink:

OK,  I see I'm in a minority.  Carry on, collymore is obviously more than a know-nothing wife-beating dogger, with deep and meaningful  insights and perceptiveness.

I'm not going to defend what Collymore did, I'll just leave you with words from the man himself from last week.

Regardless of what he has done away from sport it doesn't negate any opinions or insight he may have about football.

I won't re-quote his very long, rambling meander through self-pity and self-justification, but I will say that either collymore or the mirror have some serious and very expensive public relations people on-board.

Oh I think collymore is a prick. I also think a stopped watch is right twice a day.

Because he wants to be more than his past mistakes?

Because he's one of the few ex, high profile professionals to talk openly and honestly about mental health issues?

You've offered no counter argument to the points raised by Collymore and to those who have agreed with the jest of his article merely making sneering remarks about his character. If you don't like the man, fine but don't dismiss the discussion based purely on the person raising it.

Yorkley, how do you do it?

You even got two men talking about you taking a sh*t.

And dreaming about it as well!!!!!  That's a bit sick, even for me.

There are some disturbed people around these days.   I blame twatter. And the Tories.

He should be given credit for that instead of being labeled as self-pitying and what not.
Many people would still be among us if there was more openess and honesty around stuff like this.

Collymore is the worst kind of twat, constantly badgering and winding up certain people to get a reaction so he can the claim he's being racially abused and keep himself relevant. Most of his comments are embarrassingly simplistic and moronic with very little information or proof, just scattergun garbage. I've heard this, it seems that, it could be, it might be. He writes a lot but says nothing.

People are not defined by their past mistakes. Or shouldn’t at least.

And that's why it is so easy to get a job as soon as you come out of prison having served your sentence, eh?

If people resort to racial taunts when he's on a wind up about football then those people deserve to be called out.

When it comes to hosting TalkSport he's got to have a strong opinion one way or the other to motivate people to call in.

He does that. He prompts strong reactions from people (see this thread) he gets conversations going.

In Utopia.

You believe they are? That mistakes you've done in the past defines you?
