August 16, 20205 yr That's actually a handball there, his arm isn't on his chest it's next his elbow that is clearly doing an abduction motion when the ball hits it.

August 16, 20205 yr Criminal defending, reminds me of our hardcore zonal defending early on the season
August 16, 20205 yr And on the pen, Utd got that last minute one against PSG which was some BS decision yet they get away with it today?
August 16, 20205 yr I appreciate Fernandes as a good player but his constant diving is making my blood boil now
August 16, 20205 yr I expect a dive fest in tg last fe minutes from United expect Olympic quality stuff

August 16, 20205 yr Jesus Navas is real legend of Sevilla. The former UEFA Cup specialists have kicked out Wolves and ManU, happy for them. I remember they had a tragedy when their player died but sadly I forgot his name, pretty sure he was a left back though. Ole at the wheel, going off a cliff! The more they have him the better!
August 16, 20205 yr Scholes says United need to spend money and back Solskjaer...........is he saying they haven't already done that? ?
August 16, 20205 yr Utd should have won, plenty of chances, poor finishing and Sevillas keeper played really well.

Good for us that the ManU manager has a lot of friends that are on TV, the longer he's there the more time we need to worry about them becoming a monster team again...
August 16, 20205 yr But I thought Ole is a genius and doing a good job according to some people on this forum?

Mata was pretty close in 2012/13, 11 goals and 17 assists. 19 goals and 35 assists in all competitions, which is incredible on it's own but even more special when you realise who our strikers were at the time. It's shocking what has happened to Mata since then. He looked destined to go on and be one of the best midfielders of the generation, but he's become more and more forgettable since he joined United. How do you go from having a season like that to becoming so forgettable? It's like United sucked the life out of him, which seems to have become a common thing at United in recent times.

That was a stellar season from Mata. Sadly I don't think we can wholly blame Man U for his decline, as he pretty rapidly declined following Mourinho's arrival in 2013/14, leading to the infamous "Oscar is my no. 10" jibe. Mata's biggest problem always was his lack of pace, and competing for spots alongside the likes of Hazard, Oscar, Ramires etc. as the football world rapidly shifted away from possession-based play to pressing/counterattacking, really put a hard cap on his potential.
August 17, 20205 yr I’ve watched that goal a couple of times and still don’t get why Maguire stopped and looked back? If he had continued running it would have intercepted that cross I reckon, it at least got something on it. I’ve only seen it at one angle but unless there was another player hurtling in who he heard scream then it makes no sense. Well to be honest that’s being kind, block the ball if you’re in a position to do so, there’s no need to mark anyone if the ball is coming straight at you. Did he think someone would nip in and take it? Ah sod it, sh*t defending.
