PSG are more likely to get him over City as they have the money. I don't think he would be a good fit in the high pressing and intensity that Lampard wants us to play. His legs are long gone for pressing 90 minutes and he is a bystander when the team defends.
August 18, 20205 yr So looks like Koeman will be the next Barca boss, of course he is an old boy yet don't think he will last long. Read that he might be brought in as a strong man to move some of the old guard on. If you believe in omens arriving at El Prat airport might not have been the best move.

I expect he'll be brought in to tidy sh*t up for the next manager, he's an interim manager while they get the right one seemingly.
August 18, 20205 yr The Dutch need a new coach now. Speaking of them, I will cheer for Lyon to make another upset, Memphis Depay has that lion tattoo all over his back it's looks really cool and I'm not into that stuff but he would be a real Chels with that if he were to be a part of our squad lol The best ending of the CL in my book would be Lyon winning over PSG, that would hurt the rich boys so much...
August 19, 20205 yr https://www.private-eye.co.uk/issue-1528/news?fbclid=IwAR3PT89YXNQUTSyNwv0XP7cIMOI6n-L-SDVh9SPNkOPp2JiCXBCbv-maXhM TOTTENHAM Hotspur FC is majority owned by the Bahamas-based billionaire Joe Lewis and his partner Daniel Levy through their company ENIC Group. Levy is also chairman of the club and this year topped the list of highest-paid Premier League executives with remuneration of £7m (including a £3m bonus). When lockdown hit, the club controversially announced it would furlough 550 non-playing staff, describing this access of public funds as an attempt to protect jobs. The decision was reversed after an outcry from fans who pointed out that their club is reportedly the eighth richest in the world. Levy expressed regret at the “concern caused” and said he hoped “the work our supporters will see us doing in the coming weeks, as our stadium takes on a whole new purpose, will make them proud”. This work included allowing a Covid-19 testing operation on club property and letting the stadium’s air-conditioned basement car park be used as a vast food hub. Support the local community The food hub, set up by Haringey council and run largely by volunteers, sent out supplies to vulnerable people who could not shop for themselves. Volunteers delivered to the most deprived communities in the area. Club manager Jose Mourinho visited the hub and some of the club’s women players joined the volunteering effort, with their head coach Juan Amoros saying: “It fills me with pride to see what the club is doing to support the local community. Our stadium is a globally recognised landmark and the way it has been transformed to help people during the pandemic is unbelievable.” What neither he nor the club mentioned was that Tottenham’s generosity came at a price. Haringey council confirmed via a resident’s freedom of information request that it had been charged by the club during the period that the stadium acted as a food hub. “These costs were £1,680 per week for additional security and £880 per week for additional cleaning,” the council responded. With the council being charged £2,560 per week during three months of lockdown, the total the club charged was £33,280 – around the amount that Tottenham’s star striker Harry Kane earns in one day. The Eye asked Tottenham Hotspur why it had passed on these charges. A club spokesperson described the bills to Haringey council as third-party costs for services requested by the council: “The club did not pass on any costs which it itself incurred, and covered several other costs too.”
August 19, 20205 yr I guess in a strict sense it's fair that Spurs didn't pay for the third party costs, assuming that's the way it happened when the bills came and they didn't actually pass the costs on. But in the end the council and the club contributed nearly the same amount yet Spurs were able to use the opportunity to do a song and dance about it and claim more credit than the council, they should have offered to pay for those additional costs as £60k is still a mighty cheap price to pay for the furlough PR disaster.
August 19, 20205 yr Lyon miss two great chances and then Gnabry comes up with a Robben trademark goal. Bayern seem simply unstoppable... Edited August 19, 20205 yr by wizardous
August 19, 20205 yr Gnarby couldn't get a game for West Brom and now he's ripping teams apart In Europe shows when a player is determined to be great he can be.Hardwork beats talent when there is no Hardwork with that talent
August 19, 20205 yr I find the Koeman appointment abit strange. Not sure why they went for him. Like others have said, maybe they have someone lined up who is not quite ready....though that sounds abit unlikely.

This is typical modern Barcelona, they have been making odd decisions for a while now.

If the quater finals and semi finals had two legs, I think they would already have beaten the record.
August 19, 20205 yr Am I the only one who really liked the look of Denayer? Perhaps he’s not the best defender around but I was really impressed and damn, he’s so slick on the ball.
August 19, 20205 yr Bayern makes it look simple, they are not that good in defense since Lyon had good chances but because they play such an open game and have the trust in their ability they make it look easy, every time they have a semi-decent chance they score...Maybe that's how Lampard wants us to play, direct and finishing chances.
August 20, 20205 yr Didn't see the match didn't even realise it was on. Commentary seems to suggest Lyon missed their early chances conceded and could not make their openings count, Bayern could.

Next year is the Barca Presidential election it is impossible to make a managerial decision that will have an impact long term on the club before the election. Koeman is acceptable to the fans as he is a Barca legend. Victor Font (who is running in the Barca presidential election), has announced he will sack Koeman if elected, to replace him with Xavi. Some people think Pochettino would be a better option but his time at Espanyol means Barca will not consider him.

August 21, 20205 yr The level of sh*thouserry since Sevilla scored the third has been embarrassing, from the 76th minute they have probably played 2 minutes of football. Poor officiating for allowing this from Sevilla.
August 21, 20205 yr Sevilla the UEFA Cup specialists. Conte still not knowing how to win in Europe... The last time an Italian team won this was Parma in the late 90's.
August 21, 20205 yr Good game, feel for Conte. Luck didn't go their way. What Lukaku thought he was doing for the own goal I've no idea. 4 minutes ago, Imran_CFC said: The level of sh*thouserry since Sevilla scored the third has been embarrassing, from the 76th minute they have probably played 2 minutes of football. Poor officiating for allowing this from Sevilla. It was disgraceful. Flopping about everywhere, staying down after the most minor of challenges, diving all over the place anytime Inter made even an attempt at a physical challenge. Very poor play and refereeing. Rugby used to have injury time and they changed a few years ago to stop the clock instead. Sometimes I really do think that would be a good move for football as well. It would cut that sort of behaviour out, because the exact time would be added on. That said Inter still had two big chances once Sevilla went ahead and just couldn't take them.
