Played there under Lamps and was still pants.

Who wasn't pants under Lampard? Hmmm. Under and pants in the same sentence as Lampard.

Kai Havertz -type of player is the reason I don't like the Premier League's playing style that much. Many players (last one being Zlatan) said Premier League is all muscle, pace and strenght. Technical abilities are much more in the forefront in other top leagues, like Spain. In England a fast sprinter could be the star player. I personally love players with vision and passing skill more than headless-chicken type of running. Our football has been like that for a while.

Kai is very technical player whose skillset is made for technical league. I think he will be excellent in Spain if he goes there. The style of play is much more natural for his type of player. He will feel much more at home there.

Would he excel in Spain though? I reckon he needs to go to a league where teams play a 2 upfront, and I don’t know of any Spanish teams that do. Serie A and back to the Bundesliga is his best option IMO.

I am not convinced he is a “very” technical player, he is probably the closest player to Muller who over the years has had pundits scratching their heads. Like Muller he is neither a CF, Winger, Playmaker or a Second Striker, he is just a combination of bits of all 4 positions, he is a space interpreter/invader. Havertz best trait is operating in the space between a forward, and a midfielder- well timed runs and perfect execution. His positional play without the ball is in between the lines and  in the deep lines in the final third.

Yeah, not sure I like that. If Havertz goes to Arsenal and Mount goes to Utd, it's further proof Boehly and his gaggle of tits don't care about the culture of English football. Sometimes it's not just business.

You think City cared selling Sterling to us or Jesus to Arsenal?

I was happy enough to see him go abroad but wouldn't feel comfortable with him going to Arsenal.

Times have changed it seems. If reports are to be believed Mount has decided his career is better served elsewhere than here and is leaving not just about the money.

He was rejecting contracts even in the previous regime.

Bit of a worry that all the players we are actually able to sell are seemingly going to direct rivals. They may or may not have worked out here but Mount to United, Kovacic to City, Havertz to Arsenal and now there are whispers of Spurs coming in for Gallagher and us being open to sell him there. Not a great look is it...

Much different is we were top of the table and selling squad players down the league.

The only thing awful would've been selling Mount to Arsenal.

We've seen what Havertz can do in the Premier League and it isn't anything worth bragging about. Mount at his very best is still only a clog that needs to be in a well functioning unit, which imo United are far off from being.

Because if we have any hope of selling off these players its where the money is, IE the Premier League.

Yep. That's the bottom line. Only PSG in France and,  to a lesser extent, BM in Germany have any real money. No one in Italy has any at all.

Yes, but I suppose one would have hoped that it wasn't the proven or even somewhat proven players that moved on first. There is obviously a need to shift players but perhaps not the actual good ones first?

Why should it matter? The goal is to sell off the assets that either don't want to be here or are not good enough. We probably want to sell off the most marketable to generate funds for players like Caicedo.

I've seen enough to suggest that the club are entirely determined to aggressively trim this squad. May not happen at the start of pre-season, but it will happen.

Happened in peak Serie A constantly (look at the list of players that have done both Milan clubs for example). If we want to get maximum value out of these players this is the route. City are doing exactly the same aswell now, eventually the rest will catch up too.
