Needs to improve quickly as he was shocking at times especially for the second goal. He was erratic before getting injured and seems he hasn’t improved at all.

Was he supposed to do that playing FIFA on his Playstation while injured?

It will come in time. He (as well as Lavia) are unfortunately a step behind but they will not improve without minutes.

I thought he was ok, but reading match thread after a few key moments stood out that he needs to work on. Early days - let him play 5-10 games alongside Lacroix and it will settle down. Great to have him back.

Very early in the season, but he has been our worst defender so far. He came back strong after his injury last season, but now he is starting on equal footing with everybody else, and we are really seeing the affects of an ACL injury. Always a step behind the opposition player, never gets in front of them, mistiming headers, not getting a good leap. It happens to every player after this injury, it's going to take time.

Yeah give him time. He’s great and the type of personality we want in defence.

The system we play currently exposes the outside centrebacks quite a bit. They are having to deal with a lot of 1v1 high tempo defending.

Despite us conceding a lot these days, I enjoy this type of football much better than the dross served up for the last 2 years. All in all very happy!

No better without him, which suggests that it's either a tactical issue, or the even more dark reality that all of our defenders are sh*t.

Yeah think It’s a tactical flaw. Colwill needs to be in the CCB role instead of Lacroix progressing the ball which is his strength, and Lacroix needs to be at RCB. Issue I think is Alonso needs Lacroix height and strength as the CCB.

Just play a back 4 with Lacroix and Colwill partnering each other. Hato is better as a LB rather than a wing back too

Judging from these first 3 games, there is no comfort in our backline or defensive shape whatsoever. We could have 10 defenders on the pitch, and it would be more of the same.

This will take the most time to sort out.
