Badi and Disasi were fine. Badi were great then he was constantly injured.

Disasi was an emergency signing because we had no dm nor fb who can play cb and our two CB were 1000 years old and 20 years old.

Rosy retrospection. They were sh*t.

They are 4th or 5th CB. They are irrelevant.

We have far more important problem than 4th and 5th cb

Absolutely gutted for Colwill. Was only saying to my mate the other day how much he has grown into a real leader now.

Thankfully he should be able to get back to his best again, acl injuries nowhere near as devastating as they once were, amd plenty of top players have gone on to have brilliant careers after, including rudiger who did his at about the same age as Colwill.

In terms of replacement, I think we were always a top centre back short. Colwill is the only one that i would say was a nailed on starter for the next 5 years. We have excellent squad players in Badiashille, Tosin and Chalobah. Fofana can not be relied upon, and I would actually sell next summer unless he has a brilliant season as a starting centre back.

That then leaves the 3 prospects, ( not counting Disasi, hopefully he never plays for us again). Achaempong, Anselmino, Sarr. The latter has gone out on loan, the former 2 are still an option, but with the injury concerns with Fofana and Badiashille, I think we have to bring someone in.

Personally I would go for Tomas Araujo. We have been consistently linked over the last 12 months, he has an €80m buy out clause, and i think stylistically he can play centre centre back, and right centre back to really high level. He would be a fantastic long term partner to Colwill too.

Said this after the Colwill injury. The centre back situation is worrying for the season. We needed a centre back before Colwill got injured, and we're heavily linked with Hujsen.

So we have gone from wanting to go into the season with a Colwill Hujsen pairing, to now having Chalobah and Tosin. Really not a good enough pair, Fofana adds nothing, and neither does Badiashille. Hopefully we can get through to January, but seems a ridiculous use of funds to spend what we have on Garnacho and Gittens, ( both very raw and with big question marks), when there are some big holes in the team.

A whole year out for Colwill? OK, I get that he was improving, but lets be honest, he wasn't exactly flawless before this injury. It's not like we lost a prime Maldini or JT. Will he be the same player on his return? Will he be another Fofana/Lavia/James struggling to stay fit? So many questions, but I don't think he is this huge loss leaving a massive defensive Black Hole like some people are making out.

Disagree: He really was if the last several months were anything to go by. He’s been solid since Ipswich at home.

OL so lets say he has been this Super Star centre-half since Ipswich at home. When was Ipswich at home?

Truly, truly entertaining comment Bob. I'm not sure if you've crossed a line there or snorted one.

Thanks for brightening my day, you card, you.

14 games ago, and he hadn't put a foot wrong in those 14 games. A big reason we finished in a Champions League place and beat PSG.

For someone who rates Noni and his 5 good games a season I thought you'd appreciate some actual consistency.

From April 12th. Not that long ago is it? And you don't have to look back through match reports or game stats to know he wasn't flawless in the games since then. For sure, better than his early season form, improving, but certainly not the equivalent of losing a proven centre-half like a Tiago Silva, Desailly or JT for the season.

Once again, Bob's definition of "Fine" is not the same as anyone else's!

Of course.

We have so many fans here obsessed with 5th or 6th CB. I couldn't careless about them.
