Frenkie De Jong, not a rumour but apparently for sale

Featured Replies

A rumour out there is both Pique and Biscuits want to amend their contracts to play for FREE this season and are encouraging others to take wage cuts as well so they can keep De Jong and register their new players.

Pathetic. Hope Kounde and Raphinha enjoy not playing.

Re: De Jong, a win win for us. If we get him, we get a quality player. If he chooses to stay in Barca, it screws them big time.

They can't. Spanish law says they can only take a 50% paycut. It's the reason why Messi had to leave last season. His wages were so high that not even a 50% wage cut would have been enough.

Want to play for FREE no less lol.

Liam Twonmey from the Athletic was interviewed on Sky Sports. He said despite the abuse of fans and what the Barca board have done to him he wants to stay at Barca as they are, wait for it, his dream club.

Mutual termination of contracts. Resign later on a Alves style 1 Euro a month deal.

Hahahhaha. Do we really want to have such a tw@t playing for us here then. Seriously what a moron. Its got to be posturign to ensure he gets his money. If not this clown would be a scammers dream ticket, he'll swallow any old sh!t.

Liam also revealed it is TT who is driving us to try and sign Auba, De Jong and Fofana. They are his choice of targets and why we dropped the Kounde bid apparently.

Maybe busquets and piqué can hire Frenkie de Jong as their gardener. Let him take the 50% cut and they will supplement his salary to 100% by paying a fake Gardening company set up by De Jong

Also for our mate Jorgi, I mean @Gol15, apparently De Jongs agent is having talks with Barca today. A transfer? Agreeing a wage deferral payment and to lower his salary? Let's see Gol 😉

He's going to choose either us or Man United.

In short FDJ meeting is because Barca again are trying to get him to take a 50% wage cut.

He and his family don't want to move, and he has given us "no encouragement" to make an offer.

Ah gone from saying it is done to him chosing between us and United eh gol?

Our club did all what is needed without problems, it's always the player's choice in the end of the day, he just needs to send a thumbs up or nod to his manager and he's our player... From what I understand he wasn't open for the notion of reuniting with his former Ajax coach to begin with, we moved in afterwards and if he's not shortsighted, he will understand that here he would have everything, Jorginho and Kante are leaving next summer he's the new key player that would be the centre piece for Tuchel's midfield. On top of that there has been a report of Lazio telling Man United hands off Milinkovic-Savic so apparently they tried to see for other options already.

Yes. Sounds like it won't happen. They cannot force the player to leave. But if he stays he also creates a big problem for Barcelona as they cannot register the new players. Maybe plan B will be to take Kessie and Christensen on free transfers.

Is it 48 hours or not? This is the only thing that matters!

Gol mate in the end Barca pull off some magic or De Jong agrees to their terms so he can Stay.

He and his family want to stay, they are settled in a new home. He is not uprooting them.

I think if he was ever willing to let go of £17m and taking a 50% pay cut then he would have done it by now. If money is a key motivation I can actually see him at Utd over us.

But we are the happy medium in offering a decent wage, being in a better location and being more successful on the pitch.

Not sure what kind of magic though, he clearly doesn't want a 50% cut in paycheck, that much is clear. Like I said, if he's shortsighted he can do the following:
1. Bend over, take a huge cut and stay and deal with the fans not liking him anyway.
2. Stay without taking a 50% hit and develop some huge toxicity levels over there, the fans will boo him every match.

If he wanted to re-join his former manager at Ajax, we wouldn't be in this conversation to begin with. But we are... Still he might just choose whatever but I see no reason why he would cause so much openings if he is going to let go of a lot of money and read a love letter to Uefalona fans... If he stays there I will be shocked.

Apparently we offered him 17millnto sign on, paying his owed wages so he would not be poor here.

Is like Fofana. Leicester maintained from the get go not for sale, and so he is still there. Well De Jong has maintained he wants to stay at Barca, and he still is.  All the rest is media and Twitter BS.
