Have those ‘istory boys up in Liverpool taught you nothing?

I think they would agree with us that football started in 2014 when it comes to Utd matters.

Apparently we offered him 17millnto sign on, paying his owed wages so he would not be poor here.

Is like Fofana. Leicester maintained from the get go not for sale, and so he is still there. Well De Jong has maintained he wants to stay at Barca, and he still is.  All the rest is media and Twitter BS.

He wants to stay but he also wants the money, if not then he would've released Barcelona from all this drama ages ago. He could be waiting for the club to find other ways to free up cash so he can stay but it looks like it's more worth them getting rid of just de Jong than getting rid of multiple players and selling more assets etc.

Cheer up @Gol15 we all get these wrong at times and let the Twitter mafia direct us.

On the plus side less competition for Jorgi and maybe leads him to a new deal. 🙂

You're talking as if it's all clear that we're not getting him? You got nothing on me pal, I see you're bluffing...

Be real, FDJ isn't staying there for -50% wages, if he wanted to he would have already done it. Also he's not joining Man United either, if he wanted to he would have already done it.

Also realistically it's much harder for him to compete with the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Kessie and even the veteran Busquets, in comparison to... Jorginho and Kovacic.

Never felt he was close to leaving Barca...never felt he is someone we need exactly.

Aye. Him and his agent are meeting Barca today and probably tomorrow to thrash out the terms for him to carry on with him.

Barca set to save wages with Depay leaving.

Depay alone won't be enough to make up the shortfall. I suspect they will either need to sell another player or accept that some of their new signings (e.g. Kessie and Christensen) will go elsewhere

I get the feeling if this is gonna happen it will happen this week.

There’s not enough noises that he himself wants to move here unfortunately, so I’d be surprised if this turns in our favour.

By the weekend I think we’ll get our answer either way as La Liga starts this week.

Personally, I think we should go all in for Fofana now and whatever will be will be with De Jong.

I just think all this getting to 90% of a deal and then switching focus to other deals isn’t the way to go.

Get the Fofana deal done and then go all in on the next target, it’s almost like they are hell bent on securing 2 deals on the same day to make some sort of statement.

We need to be careful with this tactic, there’s the saying about trying to chase 2 rabbits and ending up with none.

We are in an ideal position, he improves our first team but we don't need him. We can go all out for him and if we fail, no big deal, we save the money for next summer. No need to sign a plan b.

Unlike united who NEED a player like him.

I'd argue we do need him given we have exactly 1 premier league quality midfielder who has a contract that doesn't expire next summer.

we don't want a repeat of this summers CB situation with our CM's

There is some serious voodoo going on at Barcelona. Not sure how they are successfully luring all these players there, even some that are willing to throw away 17m....Hope the reports are false and he holds Barcelona ransom.

In other news, Christensen reverted back to his Chelsea profile on Instagram and removed Barcelona from his bio...

Really can't see this going anywhere if De Jong and his family are adamant they want to stay in Barcelona ...

Thought his wife wanted to live in London? I swear this De Jong saga is conflicting depending on where and what you read it from. Everyone is saying something different.
