Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2022/23

The spuds have in spitting Kane what we had in Hazard, but they are just so much worse because we were title contenders with him while they just fight to get top 6.
We’ve been massively underperforming, whether because of players or coach, I don’t know. But, Newcastle are not better than us, they just want it more. Are Tuchel and Potter worse than Howe? Are our players worse than theirs? Or, is our system and are our players underperforming? To be honest, I think that we’ve been pants, but I think it’s mostly down to players not performing. The system being a bit too conservative is down to our players being crap defensively.

That is all thanks Tuchel. The big money signings never seem to work, Newcastle have taken a very smart approach. Botman & Guimaraes would have improved us massively, and they both cost the same amount we spent on competition in Cucurella.

All thanks to? No. Some thanks certainly but our owners knew they were going to sack him for some time according to multiple sources yet still wasted money on Cucurella, Koulibaly, Sterling and Aubameyang based on TT recommendations? Come on that is the height of stupidity.

Yeah fair enough there are flaws in the squad….but 9th position and terrible performances flaws? Massively underperforming.

Cause a lot of them don't care. You sign mercenaries, which our big signings were, don't expect them to care they only care for their pay.

Add that to two keepers that are not top level, a defence that has only a good Chalobah and a top class Silva, 2 injury prone wingbacks, a midifeld that's only top level player is always injured, laughable lack of creativity and goals offered and we are what Arsenal used to be, and they were in these positions at times too.

Not really mate. We had flaws in our squad, did not fix them, and made poor signings that only made for furthering a poor group.

But on paper we are not a 9th placed squad/team.

Neither were Arsenal, yet the occupied that sort of place for years. What happenes when you buy mercenaries. They switch to players with something to offer and they build something.

Ain't just Lukaku on our books with such a attitude.

Sorry mate, but Arsenal are over performing this season and they were rightfully placed previously. Their team is not better than City or Liverpool, even I’d argue they’re level to ours, Newcastle, ManU or Spuds. And, Arteta is not better than Conte or Pep or Tuchel or TenHag or Howe. They just are having a very good year and the rest are in transition or just sh*t, that’s all.

Bring back the World Cup. Haven’t missed this sh*t in the slightest.

Ah come on Sconnie, you are not looking forward to watching another display from us to follow along the lines of our Brighton, Arsenal and Newcastle displays tomorrow?

Well that seems like a reverse me jinx there, do you want Arsenal to win the league fella?

We’ll, Arsenal, Brighton nor Newcastle were performing that well last season we’re they? They are over performing and we’re sh*t, stop that w**king over other teams.

Eddie Howe is doing an incredible job at Newcastle.

He is without a doubt working with a squad that's weaker than ours and he's doing wonders. The way they press is fantastic and I hope Potter is taking notes.

Nope, I don’t want them to win fa, and they’re not that good. We’re sh*t, yes, but overhyping other teams is not my style either.

Now, I know that you have to do your voodoo thing and I hope it works 😜

Dear oh dear, another sacking looming for Frank.

Bit gutted for him and the Chelsea contingent there like Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, even Paul Clement and Ashley Cole.

He is no doubt in the ‘end game’ of his managerial career, just hasn’t worked out.. probably will get another shot at a Championship club but it’s as bleak as it could be.

We need it, our odds of top 4 are looking worse than king fu kitten @Munkworthin a scummers pub that locked its doors.

Arsenal win later on and tomorrow gives an even greater inevitability.

Only reason Arsenal and Cities results matter is a lot of us don't want Arsenal to win the title. It matters not to us as we won't be overtaking them, 16 points is too big a gap.

It’s annoying that the club have bought into this “rebuild” vision. Yes we need a rebuild but we’re not that bad that we should be scraping 7-9th. That’s embarrassing. We’ve finished top 4 consistently. Todd needs to have a big word with Potter who I fear is too nice a guy and not a winner.

I don't think he stays if we finish 7-9th no matter what's being reported right now. He will have lost the faith of the players if we end up there and when you lose the dressing room you are a dead man walking no matter how patient the owners want to be.

Context is important. 5 months of the same clueless football I agree he’s gone, but if performances improve I don’t think he’ll leave.

Agree with that. If we don't get off to a good start now though I actually think things may unravel really fast and even finishing the season would be up in the air for Potters sake.

A win tomorrow will be massively important. And we need to follow it up by beating Forest .

We could lose both games too. Both those sides had little impact from the world cup.

If that happens and we sink toward the relegation zone with the likes of City, Liverpool and Tottenham coming up the owners hands will likely be forced.
