apparently Todd is considering a bid for Casemiro

he's class in my opinion

although i would like to see Gallagher getting a chance

but with Kante and Kovacic injured it might be a good idea?

That would get Nevilles blood boiling again...

i was thinking about this. Surely if Casemiro is available why wouldn't we try to get him? 

why would we let such a good player go to United.

Todd probably did it on purpose as well. Unfortunately most of United's targets are terrible players who wouldn't even be good enough to be our 4th choice option

I think they want to cash in on him. They have Tchouameni and Camavinga now. Casemiro was on the bench in the weekend 

He's not unhappy at Madrid or anything. Maybe he's looking for a pay rise or new challenge

I was suprised that Madrid was even open to let him go too

Yeah he is 30, 31 in Feb, so getting a good fee now while they have those two great prospects is just good business.

Casemiro is a world class player. I have no idea what kind of fee they are thinking of. If it’s under 50 million i would go for it. He can rotate with Kanté 

Oh and an added advantage is that it would be funny to get him and United would have to move on to Fabian Delph or Tom Cleverley 

Lolssss @ Man united getting Delph or Cleverly. How are the mighty truly fallen. They may need to get back SAF into saddle again to help them 

 

Having said that there is no way in hell RM will consider selling casemiro. Especially that the new supposed replacement have not been adequately tested. They would have learnt their lessons from the Makalele debacle and won't be keen to repeat it

He’s more of a sitting DM, so I’d think of him more of a Jorginho rotation option. Him with Gallagher, Kova or Kante on the sides, we’d actually have a strong midfield.

I'd love us to get Casemiro. It'd never happen. It would surely mean Jorginho going whilst he is in his last year

There has to be some basis to the Man Utd interest. I figure Madrid might have offered him to United seeing they are desperate. If he wasn’t for sale why would United be linked with him?

Maybe its all part of Barcelona's big plan to humiliate the english clubs that pulled out of the super league. After hunting after every one of our targets like a fking dog on heat Laporta has had a blow in the Glazer's ears by saying "the best way to appease the fans, why don't you bid for Casemiro. RM are up to sell him, go for it"

Man Utd get linked and in true delusion that only the Man utd fans can have, genuinely think that a lauded superstar, serial champions league winner, sitting in the pivot of one of the elite midfields of european football, challenging once again for the Champions League, is going to give that up and will move to a city that pi$$es with rain every single day to play with Fred and Mctominay to compete for a top 8 place in England and the Europa league.

Would be a good signing for United who are said to be in advanced talks. No mention of us, as we appear to be chasing De Jongs shadow.

They are desperate as they have shown they are woefully prepared for this season.

€60m + €10m add on’s. Hell of an awful lot of money for a 30 year old midfielder. 

£60m to United, he's having a medical tomorrow apparently. Too expensive, too old for a 5 year deal and no resale value.

Still a top player, but looks like a panic deal for the money paid. If United is willing to pay this much for a 30 year old, why should we let Pullisic leave on a loan to them?

I may be speaking too soon and nowhere near as eloquently as @HazardousChoice undoubtedly will do but the reference to Pulisic is interesting. Pulisic, transferring to us at age 21, young, resaleable, bags of pace and potential. Delivered pretty much bu&&er all and we're now struggling to push him on to whoever will take him. Cost - £57.6m. Compare to serial winner, current Champions league winner Casemiro.Of course no resale value due to being as old as 30, just the potential to deliver 3 - 4 years of continual success and dependability.

I know who i would rather. 

And from someone who takes 2 Ibuprofen just to get up in the morning and whose best friends are Arnica Cream and Tiger Balm. 30 IS NOT OLD  ffs.

 

He is a real good player, a good signing for United who strengthens a midfield otherwise weak as wet paper.

Given we are looking at a short term fix for success in Auba I wonder why we did not go for him, do we expect De Jong changes his mind?
