Oh my.  IF we sign Lavia and Caicedo.  Oh my, that is a HUGE statement.  We obviously do not NEED both players.  But just to piss the scousers off, it is worth it.

Not need Caicedo. Have you watched the game against Liverpool. It’s blatantly obvious we need a DM to provide both stability in the midfield and back and to allow Enzo to do his attacking and playmaking. But I agree with the general consensus that buying Lavia is a plus.

Sell gallagher or chuku and get lavia... Team is more balanced like that imo we got enzo and nkunku and one of chuku/gallagher for CAM

Id prefer gallagher to stay but if the club see it as pure profit and as a business standpoint it makes sense.

Having caicedo lavia enzo santos ugochukwu gallagher chukuwuemeka nkunku for 3 spots is crazy

I feel 1 needs to go

I can't decide if that's a good idea or not. Last season I wouldn't have minded. He has clear deficiencies in his game. But he was pretty good as a ball winner against Liverpool, and he wants to be here.

We should sell him, I do not think he fits our current system , Will will get a very good fee for him. 50M . There are better players  who  offer more option in that position . He was the reason Cowell was isolated 1 on 1 with Salah

Never seen the betting switch around so much, earlier we were 1/3 fav to sign him, then this morning Liverpool were 1/2 fav, now it's back with us as favs at 4/9.

but i rate Lavia

he's very talented

I would like liverpool to end up with some washed 3rd rate 25yr old+ DM

It'd be crazy if we sign him. 60 mill is no small amount. We have already made a statement by taking Caicedo and making them pay extra for Lavia. Along with Santos we have decent options for the centre. Maybe we can use this money for a world class GK next summer.

I said that we do not need both players. Please read and comprehend correctly.

I think we should buy Lavia.  I am not sure why everybody is so keen to get rid of Gallagher though. Also, some even suggested selling Chukwuemeka!!!! Why?

I agree we shouldn’t sell Chukwu, I think he has a role playing as attacking mid for us. Gallagher though, despite a great performance against Liverpool it was still clear that he was a level below everybody else. Now is a very good time to sell him while his value is high imo.

I agree. He is not generational talent.  . . but I would keep Gallagher for another season. We will get injuries and he can fill in. He is loyal. He is flexible. You know what you are getting with Gallagher. The team/squad does need some continuity.

I would never sell him. The kid has a will to compete, always gives a 100% no matter what and never complains. Even in our nightmare last season he always give his best on the pitch. He may not be as talented as Enzo and Caicedo but he can improve and can become the heart of this team.

He certainly has a place as well.

Add Maatsen for emergency depth, loan out Santos and Ugochukwu.

I think the team/squad is developing an energy and camaraderie and Gallagher seems to be part of that. The blend of personalities and the team spirit is important. People you want to see on a daily basis – the antithesis of Lukaku.  Happy teammates - people you can rely on. People who put the effort in.  Chukwuemeka has that in abundance also, watch him in interviews, he is a leader and he wants to be Captain one day.  I really like Chukwuemeka.

Also, the game allows for 5 subs. That changes everything and we need to get beyond thinking about the ideal starting XI.  Poch needs to get better with his subs and the players need to understand the fluent nature of the modern game. Yesterday, James ran out of steam, luckily we have a decent RB who is really fast and can come on.

Tbh I low key hope Lavia doesn't happen.

Keep Gallagher and one of Santos/Ugochukwu.

I know what you mean.  This is not fantasy football.  You can build a great team and have some players who are not 'generational talent'.   I always think of the Nevilles playing in that United team.

I think its just ridiculous at this point (coming from someone who was genuinely his biggest critic last season).

His improvement is blatant. He doesn't kick up a fuss being a rotation option. Gives 110% even when playing in unfamiliar roles. There is a quality player in there with proper guidance. Not PE teacher guidance.

I would happily get Lavia and lose Ugo.  I am not attached to Ugo yet. Although from what i have heard about him he is a strong character.
