Romeo Lavia

Featured Replies

Will be interesting to see if we go back with a bigger bid for Lavia now, assuming that Caicedo is off the table. Or was that bid earlier in the week just games?

Apparently he is well liked by the club and the former guy who was at City, bought him to Southampton rates him highly. Whilst he wasn’t the top name, he is well liked by the club.

I like Lavia, but in all honesty it's hard to get excited as he isnt a game changer like Caicedo.

Really dont think the champions league spots are within our reach now after losing Nkunku and missing out on Caicedo.

So I would just use Ugochukwu and Santos, rather than buy another raw midfield teenager.

Caicedo wasn't a game changer himself 12 months ago. Cucurella looked decent at Brighton, so did Bissouma.

Most of the players there excelled under De Zerbi, that doesn't mean that is guaranteed at another club.

Expecting to read quite a lot of stuff about how Lavia is actually way better than Caicedo on here today. And no more of the Caicedo giving us the best midfield with Enzo for the next ten years.

Caicedo might have had a break out season, but he is a player with a massive reputation even when he was at his club in Ecuador. Couldve gone straight to a big club then tbh.

Maybe Lavia will turn into that level of player, maybe he wont. The point is big clubs pay the big money to take less of a gamble. That doesnt always work out, but its extremely hard to look at Caicedo and think how he wont be a major success at any club in england, which is the reason why 3 clubs rate him at double the price if Lavia.

Lavia is a good player, with a big youth reputation too, injury record was a bit sketchy last season, but for me he is the same level of risk as the other teenage midfielders we have.

I wonder if Southampton are now thinking, “Chelsea now have £100m burning a whole in their pocket and a desperate need for a midfield with 48 hours till their first game”

We could end up over paying for a backup plan.

Actually pretty funny what has happened in the 36 hours when you think about it.

We mustve heard Liverpool were in for Caicedo, so that's why we bid for Lavia, probably just to test the water and see if Liverpool were serious. They didnt bite with Lavia, so at that point we mustve known it was game on.

Mental transfer. I wonder what Lavia must be thinking?

Well I guess we will then move to Onana. Which I would not mind at all. We could use some body in that area.

Everton will likely think the same. And my Everton season ticket holder colleague only said yesterday that he doesn't rate him. He says he's lazy for one thing.

Well Im not an Everton season ticket holder.

So I will take his word for that. I only can judge him on the game against Chelsea and his Belgium games.

He is far from lazy there and one of the few sparks we still have.

Then again. Lukaku plays well for Belgium mostly, so maybe not the best refference. 😄

Probably going to Man Utd when their Amrabat bid falls out of bed. 😅

Apparently we are in for Lavia after all. This is from Sky Sports:

perhaps the Caicedo switch is not going to happen after all? Or are we getting both?

not sure what the f**king is going on now!

He has repeated he wants to go to Liverpool though. We should have bid 55m so they have to top it with 58m and pay 13m more than they wanted like they have done to us.
