Am I wrong to think the managers comms to the team should go through the captain?Too old school I guess but I do like that he's a Wandsworth boy.I would think its better to do the note giving to a midfielder or striker rather than disrupting your defence even for a few seconds, unless its a very long stopage in play.Thinking back to times James got the note under Maresca as opposed to others it was when he was in midfield. Happy to be corrected but I don't think it matters either way.
January 18Jan 18 Stat padded a lucky assist and spent the entire game leaving his midfield partner again. Needs to play with two real midfielders behind him in the pivot or on the bench, too much of a liability. He’s a reason we were so open yesterday and he’s the reason Zubimendi got the winner against Arsenal.
January 18Jan 18 Given how desperate Eghbali is for Enzo to be the main man and face of the club, I'm amazed they haven't yet tried the 4-3-3 formation that he supposedly "excels" in for Argentina.

It doesn't matter who you put there to do the Enzo box crashing role, apart from prime Kante, the midfield will still be wide open as that's the trade off of employing that style. We literally just saw him sit v Arsenal and the midfield was nowhere near as open. You mention zubemendi finding space but again this was down to cucu going forward at times he shouldn't have done, if you watch MOTD the pundits actually mentioned it in our game v Brentford as it was the same issue of both not getting the timings right.
January 18Jan 18 Enzo Fernandez is my go to example of how bang average footballers can win the World Cup. in his time here we are still arguing over his best position which suggeests that there isnt one. five managers havent found it and I doubt we'll see the best out of him. We are stuck with him unless we can swap him out.

Jogs back, completely leaves his man (Zubi), doesn’t even try to get back in after Zubi receives the ball and throws his arms up. Liability.

Questions need to be raised on who is actually responsible for Enzo playing Bilbao Baggins constantly because this is out of character for Rosenior, to have a lone midfielder by himself.

We’ve seen Poch and Maresca do that as well. The idea that Enzo is forced into this team is something I didn’t want to believe at first, but it’s starting to become evidently clear. Bloke picks and chooses what he wants to do because he lacks discipline. This mindset likely comes from someone incredibly ignorant or someone who knows they’re not going to get dropped. If he has to play it needs to be a 433, which agains begs the question if Rosenior is allowed to play that. One goal conceded and the other one arse had 2 v1.

January 19Jan 19 He`ll fit right in in France and PSG, will look amazing in that league and our erm..."emotional" fans will 180 and claim we were crazy to sell him no doubt.Currently hes a liability for us in midfield, and nowhere near good enough as an attacking midfielder in this league, so I dont think theres a place at the club for him. I do think its a shame as I like his attitude, he seems to genuinely like Chelsea and at least fights for the team, hes just not very good.

I would rather he just sat and sprayed passes to be honest, I've said it all along, but until we have someone else playing the Enzo box crashing role while also defending like a demon I am going to accept this as a downside to employing said tactic. As a fan with no coaching experience I am not really sure how you can stabilise the midfield consistently when one of your DM's is in opponents box and your other fullback is either overlapping or inverting but still pushing up quite high almost as a second attacking mid. Maybe world class teams can get away with it but we are not there yet. With that in mind, I thought first half in particular he was everywhere pressing, passing was good for the most part, we didn't have many irrc but think he created pretty much all the chances we did have (Happy to be corrected if my memory is playing tricks on me). Wasn't perfect performance by any means as I do remember a chance being broken down cause he took too long on the ball but overall it was good.

I have read around that Real Madrid are supposedly considering Enzo Fernandez as a potential summer move. The new trend is that Chelsea do like to both buy and sell players, so if Madrid comes with a good offer then he will be sold. But I cant see how they will meet his valuation. Maybe with a player exchange but who?Chelsea becomes quite vulnerable when Ezo plays with Caicedo. Caicedo looked better and more confident in games he played with Lavia. With Brentford, our midfield was weak until when Santos came on and Enzo moved to number 10 which I think that is where he should play. I think Chelsea forces to play Enzo because of how much we paid to buy him. 3 hours ago, Caps_Lock_King said:Chelsea trying to flog him to Real Madrid this month
January 19Jan 19 Presumably Enzo's book value is something like £60m when summer comes round, so any offer around £75-80m we should bite their arm off.
