December 10, 2025Dec 10 Not a 10.. we have been seeing this sh*t for 2 yrs now.. he is a deep laying play maker .. but to play there he needs to do the defensive part which he ignores..

He needs to be played in a 3 man midfield to cover his deficiencies but he like you said, he thinks he is a goal scorer. What irks me about the whole transfer is the Jan we paid £105m for him; Benfica replaced him with a 19yr old Joao Neves promoted from their Benfica B side, who they sold to PSG for £50m. He is literally the complete midfielder. Can play DM, CM, AM, LB and is one of the top 5 midfielders on the planet.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 Some players getting rooted to recover, yet Enzo is being played till he drops. Does him no favors and screws up the team. There were many options to play as the 10.Play Guiu and put Joao Pedro in the 10.Estevao as 10Andrey Santos as 10Bounanotte as 10

Gittens played him through and he was caught up to so quickly, he couldn't even turn and play a pass out to Neto, he just turned like a snail and the defender simply stepped in to take the ball from him with little effort.Enzo basically has the body of a 35 year old midfielder who no longer has the legs to run and turn at any kind of speed. Its not the lack of pace that worried me, its the fact a so called world class player looked like he had absolutely no idea what to do in that situation, he got caught easily but then simply let the defenders take the ball from him. No clue what to do as they caught him, no looking for our players, no turning back with it, holding the ball, take the defenders wide to give a gap for others to move into etc. He simply gave up. Absolutely abysmal.

As attacker, having good work rate is usually good enough defensively but as midfielder, you have a lot more responsibility.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 There were 58 players at the 2022 World Cup who had better average Whoscored ratings than Enzo Fernandez.Never has been "world class". Becoming so obvious now that I imagine we'll be stuck with him ...

December 12, 2025Dec 12 Terrific midfielder. Would be a fabulous signing for Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG, or a Saudi club. I'm tempted to stick him on eBay and see how high the bidding goes !Seller will no doubt return though ... "item not as described" ...
December 14, 2025Dec 14 If only lavia could stay fit.. we needed someone who can carry and run with the ball to break opposition press and he aint that guy.. we always had Essien, lampard, Ramires and then Kante who would drive with the ball-- enzo aintt that player and that hurts us.. A strong midfielder like Decklan Rice or a fully fit Lavia elevates the entire team.. I hope santos can do this havent seen it at chelsea but he used to do it at strasborg..

December 27, 2025Dec 27 Another game where he had zero impact, just floats through games as it bypasses him, utterly sh*te yet never seems to get dropped or subbed because of it.
December 27, 2025Dec 27 The guy that passes the group test without doing anything. The group are not passing and hes been found out yet again.
December 27, 2025Dec 27 I've played close attention to Enzo this season, and the guy disappears every single time when teams start applying pressure. The guy cannot cope with the intensity of Premier League football. Every single time we play against a bit of intensity from the opposition, Enzo disappears. It's like playing with 10 men, and Caicedo suddenly has to do start doing the work of two players. If you wonder why Caicedo is always fighting to win the ball back for us and picking up so many yellow cards, this is the reason why. He's been forced to hold the midfield on his own.

It’s a cautionary tale of the absolute state of things when tunnel vision is involved (club is signing World Cup flavour of the month, better get behind it). “This guy can make any midfield partner look good” oh the absolute irony of this. “The most accurate long ball in Europe” how could anyone even type this? It’s actual insanity, it’s his worst trait literally, proper Gerrard style over-hit balls every time.“I can’t wait for this meal to be served” - not only was it never served, by the looks of him, he ate it!

December 28, 2025Dec 28 I watched a pod where some analyst or journalist was defending Enzo. He said that Enzo’s main role under Maresca is to fill the spaces left by teammates moving into their secondary positions. It didn’t ring true for me but imagine paying £107 million quid for a hole filler. I still think he could be a success at Chelsea but there has to be a formation change because in our current system he doesn’t fit anywhere. To be fair to him he still managed to be our best player in the run in last season but if a club went to £80 million then I’d move him on in a heartbeat.
December 28, 2025Dec 28 I honestly think he is the golden boy in the eyes of the board. He literally plays more minutes than our captain Reece James and it’s deeper than just managing James’s minutes. He is undroppable, I wouldn’t be surprised if Maresca was under orders to always pick him.He can be a good player on his day but he is wrong for this league, he’s too slow and too weak and his passing is lazy a lot of the time.He certainly won’t get any faster and it’s very unlikely he will get any stronger so keeping him and continually starting him in the EPL is detrimental to the team. I would say he has even more weaknesses to his game than you've already highlighted. He has very limited positional discipline and reads the game like Ray Charles read Swahili on flat paper. Jackson brought more to the team than Enzo did and that was often limited to picking up the steak bakes from Greggs.
December 29, 2025Dec 29 I think he’d work in a true three man midfield - not an inverted full back or no.10 dropping deep. Saying that, would still prefer more athleticism as teams just breeze thru Chelsea. Those players are waiting. Trouble is they just don’t get picked and developed (Santos) or they’re unavailable (Lavia, Essugo).
