December 2, 2025Dec 2 Author I always rated Wharton, but Anderson looks another level. Really appreciate those Ballack esq midfielders. So dominate.I'd gladly welcome either to replace Lavia at this rate.

Contrast his performance with Elliott Anderson v BrightonThe last player to put up his numbers in a single match week was Modric back in 2011.This is the hard part with Enzo, if you ignore the 100m+ fee, he is great the moment you remember the 100 m, mehh

December 3, 2025Dec 3 The "I-told-you-so" brigade in the media is awfully quiet about Fernandez's performance today. Where the team needed leadership he was conspicuously absent. His mouthiness and comically over-the-top drama might fool some into thinking he is passionate but the reality is that he is a shrinking violet as much as anyone else.Just a useless player whose entire game-plan is to hang around the goal mouth and hope for scraps while his teammates cover the gaping hole in midfield.

December 4, 2025Dec 4 Once again, he's our own Pogba.Massive liability, massive ego, massive price tag, minimum return. Gets a few goals at the expense of the team to convince a few of the lesser minded fans into thinking he's a good player. Probably moves to Spain for £40M in a couple of years.

As you say, he puts on the passion - at 0-0 when we were under the cosh, you see him remonstrating with team mates and giving it the big 'un. But any time he's challenged, he goes down, arms waving about, looking for the ref, when the opponents are coming away with the ball and the ref's not interested. His passing is so hit & miss - gives the ball away far too regularly and with no James or Caicedo to bale him out, he looked bang average again. No way he should play every game and never get subbed. Maresca's golden boy.

Just Utd is a toxic squad and wrong environment for him to grow. Enzo is just outright limited as a footballer. Not imposing or anything.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 He was bad last night, awol as in most games. Unfortunately, with Caicedo's suspension, we haven't got alternatives. Once Caicedo is back, Santos should play alongside him.

December 4, 2025Dec 4 Didn't watch the game last night but the heat map suggests Enzo went AWOL from the pivot again as per usual when he is selected there ... was that the case from the eye test ?It's not exactly what you'd expect to see from a central midfielder LOL

He's already shown he can actually play in a pivot and stay there so I highly doubt it's by choice.

On international level he played there many times, the manager didn't give up on him playing there its just made logical sense to move him forward when you already have the likes of Macalister, Parades, De Paul, etc to do the sitting as he's much better than any of them going forward.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 Author On NBC broadcast during the match the pundits were joking with themselves that Enzo moves like an old player despite being only 24. They then tried to correct themselves by saying old experienced player.

He is the one that continually plays as a number 10 and he has completed abandoned all the skills and talents we saw for him playing deeper earlier in his career. He is not athletic enough to be a modern attacking midfielder. Better players than him have recognised their own limitations and carved out a role, but Fernandez simply refuses.
December 4, 2025Dec 4 That 2023 January transfer window really was a sh*t show for the most part. There’s always truths to the ol’ football tropes, ‘don’t sign anyone after a good international tournament’. This is going to be his 3rd full season at the club, and look where we are now, in a side where the wingers are totally disposable, strikers are disposable, defenders, keepers (well at least until we signed Sanchez’ mates to train him). Everyone is disposable, aside from this man, the wages must be astronomical, and the fee was such, that the club are just forced into making it work, at the expense of what would make us a functioning unit. Stuck with mediocrity, far worse than a Mudryk level flop.

December 6, 2025Dec 6 Bluffed his way into making people think he is a top player. If I see anybody compare him to Fabregas again, I'm just going to straight up say you know nothing about football. Bloke can't play one defence splitting pass, can't even play a midfield splitting pass. Anytime he tries to play forward, he gives it away. Pops up with the odd goal and some people think he is brilliant. He clearly prefers to play in more fast paced teams, but even if Maresca is holding him and the whole team back, it shouldn't be much to ask for more from him.
