December 30, 2025Dec 30 Author Supah bomboclat Enzo bloody Fernandez brotha 90 minute cardio seshion ya here!!!
December 30, 2025Dec 30 Watching this guy try and keep up with the play past the 60 minute mark is excruciating.
December 30, 2025Dec 30 There was a 30 second play where he had the ball about 30 yards out their area and there was a simple pass wide. He f**ked it up, obviously and Bournemouth broke. We got the ball back, passed it to him about 10 yards into out half and he took ages and lost the ball. He threw his hands up and didn't even try and get back in for the ball.Summed him up perfectly, hes abysmal, an absolute liability and yet gets picked every game, rarely subbed etc.
January 4Jan 4 Some bad passes due to miscommunication but overall was great today. Seemed like he was everywhere.Could have come away with an assist too if Neto wasn't Neto. Edited January 4Jan 4 by Remodez
January 4Jan 4 Wow I've not been here in a long time but thought I'd come back with all the recent goings on. I'm pretty sure I'm the only fan who rates Enzo. Sure he has a few weaknesses but christ reading some of these comments you would think he is Bakayoko. He may not be the best midfielder in the world but he's always there when we need him. He fights for everything including the badge which not many do these days. I think the price tag is why people judge him so harshly which is fair, but he didn't choose that and has to live up to it, which there is only a very small number of successful transfers in that price range, if any at all. Anyway thanks for reading.

That's the first good game he has had since Wolves at the start of November.

Was he not good last week vs Bournemouth when he also got a goal and we was on top most of the second half? Like I say I agree he has weaknesses to his game and I'm not trying to make out like he's prime Zidane but he's definitely not as bad as he's been made out on here. I definitely think he's unfairly made a scapegoat and is an easy target.

I wish he would always play in a 3-player midfield, just like always does when playing for his national squad.

Let's not forget he's also been asked to play that role of box crasher and is in that position to get goals. Surely a sign he's doing his job right?

Our midfield was a horror show against Bournemouth, did you not see how many times they played through it to create shots on goal? This is exactly what I mean when I say people suddenly forget his weaknesses after he pops up with the odd goal. 99% of the games he plays, he completely disappears after 60-70 minutes because he has exhausted all of his energy trying to force his body to keep up. His passing becomes erratic, he gives the ball away a lot and just looks completely done. This is why Caicedo is picking up so many yellow cards. He is forced to cover the role of two players. It's the same problem Kante had when he was paired with Fabregas towards the end of Fabregas time at the club.

Come on mate surely it's just a pure dislike at this point? He's playing mostly in a 10 role so of course Caicedo and James are covering behind him. Caicedo has tendencies to commit fouls which is why he gets booked not because of Enzo. I completely agree about the stamina side of it and he struggles towards the end of games, but is that not on the manager to make changes? Potter, Poch and Maresca barely took him off and again today he was left on. Why? Probably because there's nobody better waiting to take his place or maybe because they're told by the board. Either way we'll never know.

In high intensity games, the guy gets left behind and it's like we are playing with 10 men.I'm bored of this merry go round with Enzo. He plays sh*t for months and his defence force say nothing. He suddenly scores a goal and they all come out and pretend everything that came before it didn't happen and then disappear again the next game when he plays sh*t. It's been going on for years at this point and it's been the same with many other players over the years, like Jorginho for example.

Like I said not been here for a while but I honestly think some of the reactions here blame him for more than is his fault. Yes he has weaknesses but also contributes in other ways. Thanks for sharing your opinion, have a great evening and enjoy the result.

Enzo’s only use is box crashing as a 10 and he’s not nearly mobile or versatile enough to play that role when you have the likes of Palmer, Pedro and Estevao that are better.

I'm not painting him out to be a perfect player. But if he's being asked to be a box crashing 10, how is he supposed to get back and cover the midfield as well? We all agree mobility is arguably his biggest weakness and if we can see that why are managers still asking him to be the one to cover so much ground? Surely more of a coaching/misprofiling issue?

He'd be played at the owner's insistence even if he had a hernia :-)

What I will say again is I don't think he's the best player ever and is not undroppable but he does have some strengths he brings to the team and is being used unfairly as a scape goat. The bit about the hernia I'm sure is sarcasm as I'm sure I read at one point that he was playing with that going on? But again that just stinks of a managerial issue. And with all the recent stuff coming out about the medical team telling Maresca who he can and can't pick makes me unsure what to believe.

Caicedo, Lavia, Santos and Reece are all better deeper and Palmer, Estevao and Pedro are all better in the 10.

What I am saying is he's been asked to play a role he cannot do/struggles with. I'm simply saying he should be dropped to bench if it's beneficial to the team. But why aren't managers seeing it? Why are they insistant on him being deployed in this role? And I'm sorry but Pedro? As in Joao Pedro? He had a fantastic start no doubt, but recently has looked like he can't even control a ball, barring the goal vs Newcastle. I've seen nothing from Joao Pedro as a 10 to say he'd be better, not sure about Estevao either, yeah he looks a good winger but needs time before we can say he would be a better 10.

Pedro has 3 goals and 2 assists in the 7 games he’s played behind a striker this season. Agreed he looks lost as a lone 9 though.
