January 19Jan 19 Here's my opinion, for what it's worth. He is.. okay. Some things he can do, some things he can't.He can generally tackle and put himself about. But he can't move very quickly so is easily bypassed. He can on occasion arrive in the box for a goal. But his shooting technique isn't actually that good.He can keep possession reasonably well under pressure. But when asked to play an attacking pass, like a through ball, over the top, or cross-field, he usually mis-hits it.He plays with passion. But as a vice-captain he doesn't lead particularly well. That is the description of an average player. A few strengths, with some obvious weaknesses. As a squad player - fine. But his role in the team is supposed to be the superstar player, who will score 10+ goals a season, get lots of assists, ping the ball about like Fabregas, etc... And he's just not that good. If you want your midfielder to receive the ball back to goal and lay it back to the CBs or across to Caicedo - great. He's your man. But I've been more impressed by Santos in the last few games, because he can do that and actually play it forwards as well.If we got a serious offer, we should definitely consider it. However, I don't know if that would lead to a bit of a waterfall effect of other players looking to leave, if the poster boy of the project has had enough.

Endrick hasn't exactly kicked on at Real Madrid, and even if he had, I'm not sure he would offer anything that we don't already get via Joao Pedro as well.

We should take the money and go straight to Newcastle and not leave until we have Bruno Guimarães. Fat chance of us buying a Prem experienced 28 year old though. More likely Wharton or Anderson, but knowing this lot It will probably be a 19 old from Athletic Timbuktu. Come to think of it id rather keep him, better the Devil you know. as they say.

January 19Jan 19 I don’t understand the hate towards Enzo Fernández. I feel like he always gives 100%, and without him we wouldn’t have won against Brentford either.

Exemptions for academy players and people out injured or suspended so long that people have forgotten that they hated them.

Love his passion, but saying we wouldn't have won against Brentford is just not true. This is yet again another case of him grabbing an assist or goal and people thinking he had a great game when the reality is he struggled badly, again.

Probably in keeping with what we need in midfield with Caicedo. If we keep Enzo, then we have to shift formations and try something different. or sign an over the hill Messi.
January 19Jan 19 Anderson isn’t a better footballer than A. Santos. He’s a very poor version of Caicedo. If we want an overpriced Englishman to partner Caicedo then splash the cash on Wharton.
January 21Jan 21 Completely incapable of stringing two useful performances together. Anyone who thinks Real Madrid are remotely interested in him is kidding themselves.
January 21Jan 21 He was our best player in the 1st half in my opinion, not great but good enough, his 2nd half was subpar other than a great pass to Estevao. He certainly can do better but he's not the liability many want to lead us to believe, the lack of power from the attacking line makes everything harder, there were many times where he lifted his head and found absolutely nobody to pass to.
January 21Jan 21 If Enzo is the ceiling we have a problem. Misplaced passes and just generally being on a different wavelength to anyone else in the team. All he wants to do is run forward and have someone else set him up for a tap-in. There were a number of moments where he couldn't complete a simple 5-yard pass to Garnacho who was trying to run into space.I thought Hato was the best player in the first half tbh.
January 21Jan 21 Our biggest failing isn’t Enzo. Not even close. Everything breaks down with our wingers. This is where we need to improve. If we had a fit Palmer I’d have him on the right and Estevao on the left because they both offer exactly what our current and previous manager demand of their wingers.I don’t mind Neto so much but Garnacho is a hugely frustrating player and Gittens is not ready.I miss the days when wingers took on their man and hit the byline before crossing into the box for the strikers. The endless recycling of the ball trying to create overloads is so feckin boring and limits our wingers to areas of the pitch that are maybe 10-15 yards and is congested. It’s no surprise that Estevao is the only one to excel as his control and dribbling is next level. All our wingers would have much much better stats if we hit them earlier with the ball before the low block has been set. Even Mudryk would look half decent .Wrong players for the wrong system currently. Edited January 22Jan 22 by 19seventyone
January 22Jan 22 I would personally sell him can’t see any club paying the money we spent on him though.
January 22Jan 22 What annoys me is, we never really get to see how we could play without him!Charlton... we were 3-1 up and I thought Buonanette was doing ok - and he still comes on lol
January 23Jan 23 At least he's good for something !Enzo Fernandez welcomes Daddy Yankee to the BridgeSomeone at the club got so excited about this great story that they felt it needed two articles on the club web site LOLDaddy Yankee visits the Bridge! 🏟️
January 24Jan 24 I am not as down on Enzlo as many on here, but I have to admit there is no doubt he has not lived up to his billing. And, like Jorginho, his lack of athleticism and pace is an issue that can never be resolved in the EPL.I would now swap Enzlo for Harry Wilson in a heartbeat. Wilson is starting to look like a Luka Modric clone.

January 25Jan 25 I thought he was ok today. Dropped a little deeper in second half to offer a little more protection. Took the penalty well. But there is no world he should be starting ahead of Santos in the pivot alongside Caicedo, and if Lavia ever reappears, he'd be third choice for me. Keep deploying Enzo in the no.8/10 role, depending on opposition and need.

These guys shouldn't be better but they are just more mobile, more disciplined and more energetic.
