Hmm, she has always maintained this is her club, her side. If she decides to go what does that say about where the club has gone, and is going, under these owners?
May 28, 20233 yr The word legend is used far too frequently these days, but my word what a legend she is. I wonder if we could facilitate her taking a year off to refresh and come back? ive never heard of such a thing in football, bit if its anyone we should bend backwards for, its Emma
May 28, 20233 yr From the BBC Hayes likes to enjoy living in the moment but still has ambitions - and that includes winning more trophies with Chelsea. Having previously worked with Vik Akers at Arsenal, the legendary coach who won 36 trophies with the club between 1993 and 2009, Hayes is eyeing his record. Saturday's WSL crown was Hayes' 14th major trophy with Chelsea, so she still has some catching up to do. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65735885 Of course she does have a young son and had emergency surgery this year.

As I've posted before she is refreshingly honest and doesn't spout the crap that some managers do. I've heard commenting on non-Chelsea matches and she is eloquent and doesn't waffle. Given that she has had a difficult time off the pitch with emergency surgery she has done a wonderful job for the side and I hope that the club honours her for her great achievements and I hope she stays at the club for many years to come. God forbid the day she leaves the side but if and when that day comes she will be able to look back on her time with Chelsea with tremendous pride and satisfaction. Edited May 28, 20233 yr by Boyne

November 4, 20232 yr Well, time to bump this thread I guess ... announced that she is leaving at the end of the season "to pursue a new opportunity outside of the WSL and club football" (pretty please replacing Gareth Southgate LOL). Bugger :-)

November 4, 20232 yr She's gonna be the new coach in USA Women's national team apparently. Bad news for us. Legend. Edited November 4, 20232 yr by 2211
November 4, 20232 yr Author Obviously wants a completely new chapter out of England! She had been making a few noises at the end of last season, hence the initial thread!
November 4, 20232 yr What a legend. The last link to the Roman era. And now Todd and directors pick their first women's team manager. That is a disaster...

November 4, 20232 yr Well, the women’s game seeks parity with the men’s, so Chelsea women’s team might as well join the men’s in being historically successful.

November 4, 20232 yr Is it because she wants the US women's team job, or does she no longer wish to work with these owners? Seems strange to me Emma leaves her club without lifting the CL. She may well do this season of course, but unlike the men's side letting us down there is not certainity of that.
