Nicolas Jackson - striker

Disagree with Guiu being only realistic option… there were multiple different solutions, none of which were ever tried for any reasonable length of time.

If the role can only be played by Jackson - then change the role.

Its very evident Maresca isn't going to change any roles. This is the same manager that refuses to play Palmer on the right, will only play the best RB in world football at CM, Malo Gusto in the half space etc.

We've tried other options and the team were sh*t with all of them.

Chelsea have had a number of strikers with surnames ending in ..son or similar

Kerry Dixon

Ian Hutchinson

Chris Sutton

Eidur Gudjohnsen

and of course my favourite Didier Drogbason

so Nico is in good company and is perhaps why Maresca persists with him as the sole option

Yep - part of the reason why Maresca needs to go. Playing players out of position, and in a style that doesn't suit them.

We need a manager who plays in a way that gets the best out of our best players.... in Jacksons case, that is in the glue factory.

I would not be surprised if we stick with Jackson next season as with George coming through and Guiu hopefully coming back we will have alternatives.

I would not be surprised to see Nkunku leave.

Nkunku is as good as gone. I think his mind left in December.

If Jackson is our first choice striker next season.....I am not sure what I will do....but it wont be good.

We CANNOT go into next season with Jackson as our main "striker". Ditto with Sanchez as our main keeper. If we do that we will NOT challenge.

Everyone laughs at Arsenal for not sorting out their striker position but they still have better options than we do.

We have 3 games left to secure Champions league football next season. The team have played with Jackson as centre forward for most of the season and people saying we should experiment for the last 3 games.

I agree that on his day Jackson can be of imperceptible utility but the shape and tactics of the team and his role within it is what has got us here and to start experimenting at this point in the season would be mad.

Not sure most are talking about next three games. I'm talking about next season and the fact Jackson cannot be our striker next season.

He's not up to PL football never mind playing him in CL matches.

No - no need to put me down as 'dont know'. If there is a don't care option, you can mark me down for that. In the interim, I will go for any of list I have already given (except Maureen - she has cribbage on the weekend)

Hi Jim !

I know why you don't want to name the player to replace Jackson for the rest of the season. .

Just admit it , .. I'll put you down as ";I haven't got a clue " then..

Cheers Jim !

I don't think there's one single chelsea fan who doesn't think we need a proper centre forward when the window opens.

Hi Jim !

Who IS the player that "might be good enough" to replace Jackson ?? Have you decided yet ?

Cheers Jim !

Multiple posts all asking the same thing - when I have answered multiple times.

Is your name also Jim (Signing off Cheers Jim)?

Yet so many who defend playing a player that has clearly proven he isn't good enough.

It's like having an abusive partner - they know they should leave, but keep going over to their house anyway.

Agree with this. Or whoever they buy will be to provide competition as a backup not upgrade him. We have been linked with Emegha at Strasbourg, and won’t be surprised to see this move happen

Who was it ?

Cheers Jim !

We can though I understand many will be disappointed or angry, depressed if we do not get an upgrade.

Your comparison doesn't quite seem appropriate.

At least you can score with an abusive partner.

Apologies to the squeamish.

Imagine the smell on here if this happens... TBH, Im all for it just to see how this threads resident retard would cope.

The problem (and worry) is he actively diminishes our chances in games at the moment, the last 2 or 3 league games hes played he has been atrocious, so many offsides, so many poor decisions and touches. He bring very little positive to the side, a fairly decent player adds more than him. Look at the way a young player like George impacted last night (albeit against lesser quality, granted). He brings a lot more than Jackson, and also his attitude is much better.

I get where your coming from, dont change a winning formula and all that, but currently hes causing us more problems than the opposition.
