Nicolas Jackson - striker

Featured Replies

This thread really warms my heart - gone from a place of aggression and argument to something wonderful. It is a beautiful place.

Chelsea fans seemingly all now united in our disdain for the elbow donkey. All in agreement he is rubbish and should be sold. The decision to play him now taken out of the hands of the clueless manager. The cartel surprisingly quiet. It really is a beautiful thing.

It's been a long and hard slog to get here - needing hours of dedication and commitment - but i consider it worthwhile. For now, we rest and can all enjoy this moment of unity and clarity.

I consider my work here done....for now. So will sign off from this thread until needed again.

Let's be honest. He's an absolute fart but would be so useful as a bench player. Coming on with 15 or 20 minutes to go.

Actually I am not even sure about that. If we just park his idiotic temperament and his entitled attitude for a moment, he is technically a very poor footballer. He has no aerial ability (most of the time when you're putting a striker on for the last 15 mins is because you're chasing the game and therefore slinging the ball in), he cannot run with the ball at his feet, his pass appreciation is generally non existent, he can have close control with his first touch but is so inconsistent with it and his second touch is normally sh*t. The only thing he offers is a bit of pace when he is playing off the shoulder. So could be utilised for counter attacks if we are digging in at the end of a game, but of course all the other points result in him being a waste of a space.

If this model is about bringing through the best young talent then the blockers have to be those players that are elite and remain in place. We may as well cash in or cut our losses on Jackson, whichever way it falls and use Guiu, Mheka, George, McNeilly or any of the others coming through. If they don't make it move on to the next one.

Jackson has had a good run as the main striker, in fact for many of us far, far too long. He is clearly not only not of the standard but does not have the attributes or temperament to reach the required level. Get shot and try other options.

That was a cowardly challenge.. he was frustrated at his lack of ability to compete.. no excuses.. utter idiot.

Pat Nevin said in the BBC live match feed that Jacko was being completely dominated by the Barcode defenders. Well, Pat that has been the case in practically every game he has played in!!! On a really good day he might have a few moments where he manages to hold the ball under pressure, or manages to get away from his marker, but that is the exception rather than rule.

As for the challenge, yes it was cowardly. And I believe it came from his total lack of ability to win aerial balls. Most of the time, as in this case, he cant even be arsed to contest them. He is, without doubt, the worst centre-forward we have ever had in the air. And he's 6'2" for f**ks sake!

Hi Jim !

Maresca has said he needs a decent backup for Jackson next season., the club needs to support Maresca and get someone in pretty soon I reckon so that he can assimilate and slot in seamlessly whenever Jacko is unavailable. . Forward planning.

Cheers Jim !

Is this a joke or has he actually come out and said that? Back-up? What planet is this guy on FFS?

Why sub on a poor player? We need quality to come on and help.

I agree mate. Unfortunately the club aren't interested in buying " elite" players who will demand top wages. Jacko was about £30m and twenty years old ( I think)

No way was he going to be a top striker especially in our revolving door manager and player situation every season. We've been crying out for a striker for ages but there's nothing happening.. My problem isn't so much with Jacko as with those who bought him and a manager who says he's "perfect" Anyway this might make the owners change policy..maybe

BUT knowing our luck the next one will be an expensive dud !

f**k me, one Jackson is bad enough.

From the Daily Mail in April

"Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says a Nicolas Jackson clone would be his ideal striker signing this summer as he labels target Liam Delap an 'enemy' this weekend ahead of Ipswich clash"

I think we're going to build the team around Jackson !..

Maresca.....

"If we can have a copy of Nico, it’s okay. I have said many times, and you can see as well, with Nico we are a better team. Nico is the one we need.

"Last season, he scored goals without penalties. This season he scored goals until he was injured. Now, hopefully he can score more goals without penalties."

I wonder what sort of training regime is needed to turn a player into a clone of Jackson ?

In a way I hope we keep him. It gives Jim something to do .

I'm missing him already.

I totally get where you are coming from here RS. A regular spot for Jackson, a place for Sanchez. There is a degree of joy to be taken in us being sh*t.

Us old guys have experienced it. 26 years without winning a major trophy. Lived it, smelt it, spent lots of money we didn't really have following it. And, for sure, painful as it was, perversely, it was also f**kin brilliant at times. Swansea, Orient and Grimsby away. Relegation. Getting gubbed by Tottenham. But never giving up. Always coming back for more. Obviously, you badly need to experience it my friend to appreciate it. Because for sure, it builds character. It tests loyalty. It makes you thick-skinned. And you get a genuine feeling of "deserving" the better times when, (and possibly against all reasoning, if), they come.

I hope you get your wish RS. So you can live the "we were sh*t" experiences too and become part of the brotherhood. Your wish for Jackson up front is a very good start on the road.

Seems that the strikers we are being linked with are opting to join other clubs.

The nightmare is going to continue isn't it? Jackson will still be our first choice striker next season and the bald one will continue to select him every week.

God help us.
