Nicolas Jackson - striker

Featured Replies

We’ll never be able to shift him.

The more games he plays and exposes his lack of ability/intelligence/morals to the world the lower his value gets.

It’s the same approach we’ve taken with Nkunku.

Best case scenario I see is 5 years of loans that hopefully cover his book value and then he just disappears into the abyss.

Up there with the worst signings of this regime not just for his lack of anything relevant but also the fact he’s taken up a spot in the squad/XI that could’ve been used on someone with an ounce of something about them.

Probably for the rumours section but some pretty reliable people in Italy said there are multiple clubs looking at him and we're open to good offers. I do think we're open to good offers for most of our players though.

What is a good offer for Jackson?

Mateta is also playing for a team regularly positioned in the bottom half of the league. It's not just Jackson's goal return that is an issue, it's his overall ability and his braindead actions on the pitch. Gudjohnsen scored a similar amount of goals as Jackson in a season, but he was a far better and more intelligent footballer.

Bang on, its not his goal return thats the problem, we have had plenty of forwards in the past with only a decent amount of goals who were beloved by our fans, some even revered, due to the overall positive impact they had on the game. Didier Drogba wasnt a prolific goal scorer by any means (scorer of big goals rather than big scorer of goals etc) but he was immense on the pitch, at both ends of the pitch often, he was Chelsea. Eidur is a great example, just brought so much to the pitch, Tore Andre Flo, Crespo, even Giroud to a point. Not massive goal scorers but were such intelligent forwards, defenders nightmares.

This clown though has zero intelligence on the pitch, constantly in the wrong position, almost permanently offside. Tries stupid unnecessary flicks at the stupidest times, and his attitude stinks. He has a negative impact in pretty much every game for us.

Don't think we need to re-start with personal insults do we?

note to self, don't have banter with Jim anymore because he's gone soft after spending a year saying some of the most vile comments this forum has ever seen.

I have been a good boy. Honest.

I put the bins out before my missus asked. I let the dog sleep on the bed, even though he smells like disappointment and ham. I even smiled at the bloke in the Chelsea shirt this weekend in Dubai even though he was wearing it with Crocs. I even sat through a 12-minute Jackson compilation on YouTube, which was basically five offside runs and him tripping over his own feet to dramatic music.

So please - football gods, Boehly, Enzo Maresca, the bloke who does the admin for transfer confirmations - please make this come true....

I'm not Jackson's biggest fan, but looking at it logically, I don't see the point in getting rid of Jackson for either Ekitike or Delap. Neither have proven to be better than Jackson. Jackson scored 15 goals last season in his first season, and 10 this season. Neither of them have better goal stats than that. Jackson is also 23, he's not even in his prime yet. Osimhen in his first two seasons at Napoli had put up similar goal stats to what Jackson has in his first two seasons with Chelsea. I like Osimhen, but many of us speak about Osimhen as if he's gods gift as a Striker, yet in the Serie A he only had a single 20+ goal season.

Considering we bought Jackson for £32m, It's not like we paid 60m+ for the guy. There are far worse signings we (and other clubs) have made for more money than that. I've been reassessing my feelings on him, and I do think I and many others have been unfairly critical of Jackson since he's been at the club. Sure, he has missed chances that may have been put away by another striker, but there's no guarantees of that. There is a chance he comes back stronger and more improved next season too. I think spending £80m+ on Ekitike is insane considering he's had one decent (not amazing) season.

When is your next gig at the comedy club? This stuff is gold and will have the crowd in raptures.

Spot on mate . . We bought a £30m striker and he plays like a £30m striker.

It'll be exactly the same if we buy £30m Delap..

We should know from bitter experience by now that banging in goals in other Leagues isn't any indication at all that it can be done in the PL. . Stick with Jacko, if nothing else it livens up the comments section with Jim leading the counter attack on Jackson !

Delap is £30m because of his release clause...

In today's market he'd fetch anywhere between £60-70m.

We need to get him sold regardless of whoever comes in, because somehow this year he got the impression that he's this amazing player that needs to be played 90 minutes every game if we want to have a chance for titles. Maresca sugar coating him into the team every single time worsened his attitude drastically and we can't have that from a pretty much unproven player. Either he improves and shows he deserves the spot or gets the hell out of here asap. Imo if only 1 striker is signed, then Guiu should definitely take the spot as the backup.

I have retired. My work is done.

I don't think we should get rid of him, he's a good back up/impact sub, but if we have serious plans to challenge for the title we need a top class striker.

The only times we've won the Prem we had either Didier Drogba or Diego Costa up front, that's not a coincidence.

Jose Mourinho said Osimhen is on a similar level to Drogba, and he's the one who identified Drogba in the first place
