Nico is a good player but this is down to him. I really hope this added competition makes him concentrate on staying on side and being composed in scoring situations.

Not sure how missing a key player is good for the team....

because you are wrong - he is not a good player. He is absolutely rubbish.

If you think he is a good player - It just deepens my belief that you have not watched us play very often.

Not sure that he is “ rubbish “

Ironically there’s an article today which floats the idea of him moving into midfield as did Joelinton at Newcastle who as a forward was terrible

Personally I can’t see that as an option but I can see merit in trying him out wide on the left.

Nico Jackson is a good player. I've watched most of the games we played since he joined the team.

He isn't too bright in some situations and he needs to be much more composed in taking his chances but otherwise a good footballer and very important to us.

Again I hope this new competiton from Delap sharpens him.

Is he good at finishing?

Is he good at heading?

Is he good at winning physical duels with defenders?

Is he a player who has a good football Iq/brain

Is he good at controlling the ball?

Is he an assist machine - making goals week in week out?

Does he have a good attitude and not sulk when things are not going his way

Can he be relied upon to keep a cool head under pressure?

Is he good at pressing, and running around like a headless chicken/bull in china shop?

Not sure you and I agree on what constitutes a "good" player....

Couple of points

Nicolas Jackson - Player profile...

Nicolas Jackson - Player profile 24/25

His market value is 50m Euros.

He scored 10 goals and assisted 5 in the Premier League last season.

I think that alone constitutes him being called a good player.

Great, excellent, generational talent - nope. Good enough for a starting #9 for Chelsea - nope. Good, I think yes.

Bless you - you and your stats.

Football isn't played on paper babes.... rather than looking at transfer values and the like, go and have a gander at his actual play. He is RUBBISH!

If anything him trying harder is going to make him even less composed (if that is possible) he could be some use on the left wing if we can't sell him, but nothing is going to help if hasn't got a footballing brain.

And I'm not sure how having a bloke wearing a number 9 shirt will make off-side Jackson stay onside and suddenly gain composure in Golden scoring situations. If you could also throw in maybe winning a few headers, I will run up and down the touchline wearing a number 9 shirt myself. I don't even mind if the shirt says "Jim's Donkey 9"

At 23 he scored 10 and assisted 5 in the Premier League. Good player in my books. Ton of room for improvement and my bigggest concern is his footballing IQ. He is intelligent in some situations but a donkey like everyone calls him in others. I think competition with Delap can help him. Not a pure number 9 in my books Nico but a valuable part of the team and most of all a good player.

Good at what?

I will refer to my previous post

Is he good at finishing?

Is he good at heading?

Is he good at winning physical duels with defenders?

Is he a player who has a good football Iq/brain

Is he good at controlling the ball?

Is he an assist machine - making goals week in week out?

Can he be relied upon to keep a cool head under pressure?

Jackson is crap, we’ve had 2 seasons worth of evidence that he’s crap. He’s never going to improve to Premier League quality, probably not even Championship quality in total honesty.

It’s another failed scouting experiment that’s just been exasperated by Guiu being injured and Nkunku’s Bundesliga highlights being AI generated.

We’ve got Liams lad in now, can we all just move on and forget Jackson even exists? Please!

oh - an 1 more thing. 1 premier league goal since december. 2 assists since October....

Jackson is a nuisance at best, one of those players who can be a nightmare to play against because THEY don’t even know what they’re gonna do let alone the defender. It also makes them a nightmare to play with.

At his age, the release clause was worth taking a punt he should just never have been expected to be our main man. If he was coming off the bench in games cause problems etc we’d probably be thinking differently….he should just never have been leading the line.

Maybe that’s his role now? If not his market value has probably still gone up take the profit and invest it in someone better.

I’ve never hated a Chelsea player so much in my entire life.
