July 22, 20232 yr He should have employed @Munkworth for that garden So still not a settled, well-oiled machine. That doesn't put a supporter's mind at ease.

July 22, 20232 yr So thats Vivell, Glick, Willoughby and Potter gone within a year. Doesn’t really seem like a well planned operation, to put it mildly

I suspect it's a case of roles growing and changing in the reality of day-to-day operations as opposed to what looked good on paper at the outset. Winstanley's and Stewart's roles have obviously grown. They led the manager search, normally the province of the TD. Three people doing essentially the same job is pointless and expensive. Exit Vivell. Sensible decision making for me, Clive.
July 22, 20232 yr I think perspective is needed on all these issues, the purchase of the club and initial structure was done in a ridiculously short time scale, something that would usually be several months of planning was threw into place in a few weeks to cover people leaving etc. That didn't go well, and I'm actually impressed on how quickly they have seen the problems and acted to get them sorted. Obviously this goes against certain "fans" agenda that they're a bunch of yank idiots who have no idea what theyre doing blah blah blah yakkity smakkity... Edited July 22, 20232 yr by dkw

Whilst I have questioned what his actual job description entailed, I understood that part of his appeal, coming from RB Leipzig, was to help implement a multi club model. Therefore I couldn't work out how Vivell, Winstanley and Stewart would be encroaching. With one failed attempt at a club purchase (I forget who) then getting Strasbourg and apparently with a couple of other irons in the fire wasn't this guy doing what he was supposed to do?

His job was Technical Director which involves much more than implementing a multi-club model. Traditionally it involves overall club vision, strategy and recruiting amongst other things. Winstanley and Stewart have effectively become joint TDs. He became redundant.

Of course, always good with a positive take. I’m not impressed with newly hires being redundant within a year though. However, the last 18 months has been incredibly chaotic for everyone so I guess some of these things are bound to happen

My dog and cat put their differences aside to outvote and hence attempt to oust me. Only that I have the key to the food cupboard, now on a chain around my neck, seems me clinging on by my fingernails.
